I snapped my 7251 or rather the ball popped out. I'm not sure why as I'm pretty gentle but anyways...
What the best replacement that's been cooked up?

You could use the drive shafts for the mini E-Revo.

Are they a direct swap?

Yes they are.
Thank you !!
I don't mean to bring this thread back from the dead but after some forum searching it seems better to necro this thread rather than creating a new one.
I broke a 7251 on my new brushed Summit and have read that the 7151X kit won't work because the wider wheelbased Summit causes the balls to pull out when using the 7151X's. Is this true? What's the best alternate outer driveshaft for the mini Summit?

This is true. The axles will pop out. However, it is not the wider wheel-base. I installed mini E revo A arms in mine, and the axles still pop out. The only way to fix this is to install the mini E revo rockers. The more suspension travel you have, the more you are likely to pop out an axle. It's not the best solution, given that you probably want to keep the summit a summit, but it works.
You can also upgrade to stock merv driveshafts. They are much stronger, and don't break as often.
So my local hobby shop referred me to this part 7151 for my summit vxl, but when I put one on front it wont turn.

The wheel doesn't turn or the steering?

The steering
Do you have adjustable pivot ball caps? If you do they could be too tight.

Yes it has the adjustable pivot I'll have to take a look at it when I get home
I probably did put it to tight knowing me I probably did lol
Easy fix.
