monster of an idea
ok guys let me know what you think about my plans for my summit
ok i got my summit over two or three years back and over the time it just got really slow so i need more power. my plans are:
1)TWO momba monsters with escs wiered to gether
2)TWO 6s 5000 65c lipo batterys
3)heavy duty drive trane
4)new wheels and tiers
5)new body
6)new shocks
7)new servos
8)nitro revo trany with disk brakes
and last
9)tqi radio
let me know about this idea guys
-
im going to start the work on it ill take pic and keep u guys as up to date as posibale
-
Your diffs won't be able to take that kind of power. A stock summit tranny is stronger than a revo 3.3's transmission.

I'm not one to say don't do this or that to your truck......but I don't see this ending well. One brushless motor is on the verge of overpowering this big heavy trucks driveline. In my opinion you will be disappointed when you are fixing it every few minutes, literally you will be breaking stuff before you get a pack half done.i have been wrong before, many times, but I just don't see it liking that much power for very long.
My two cents
Sent using lipo power
-
Ha I looked at the trany and just going to beff up my summits in stead ill put metal gears and il do the same with the diffs
-
Well if it falls ill just keep it as a memory of what were u thinking type of a thing:)

Have you ever ran a summit with ONE brushless setup? I suggest you do that first because it's more than enough power for anyone .
-
WOW!! My ERBE with the MMM 2200kv is a beast on 4S, 5S, and ocassional 6S, with the the first being the sweet spot of the setup. You could drop a single lower kv motor and see how you like it.
-
WOW
Thats quite a bit. But yes I agree that the summit tranny is stronger than the 3.3 tranny, BUT the 3.3 tranny has steel gears available (ROBINSON RACING) thus far the summit only has plastic gears.
Two monster monster? I see the motors tearing the life out of that spur gear, they must be in perfect sync. There is a special wir harness called the " unslow harness" that is used with dual vxl set ups.
12 s lipo? I dont you can even find a single 6s lipo that will fit in the summit battery box. We are talking serious chassis customization
WEIGHT. Two monster esc, two brushless motors, two heavy 6s lipo, that thing would tip the scale around 15 lbs
If you really like speed there is a guy doing an XO-1 set up ( from Traxxas 100mph car) that would be ALOT simpler than dual motors.
But dont stop the creativity.

Pictures are not supposed to be links or directly from your PC.
First, the picture needs to be uploaded to a web host; like photobucket, flicker, or even a locked folder on facebook (like I do). Then after it is uploaded; you view the picture online, right click, and select "copy image location". At this point you come back to the forum and select the third icon from the right; the one that says "image" when you hover over it, and paste your image location into the box in the popup, then click "ok". Then the picture will be shown like this:

2x brushless has been done with revos, but your finished monster will be less controllable, less nimble and more than likely, slower than a single brushless summit. Not to mention to strain youll be placing on each motor as they fight each other.
Try a single mamba on 6s, with new tires and stock tranny first. Build from there if you desire.
If you really really need a crazy setup, build an 8s Mamba xl2 and 1717 setup.

Do this
-
Can you buy a "unslow harness?"
-
No the unslow is hànd made. Do a search on " dual vxl" for some pics.
-
Ya I wold have done that xl2 but that would have costed as much as 2 new xo1 and that's just the electronics
Trust me I thought of that two but backed off of that set up
Plus two off thoughts would just abliterate the tuck
-
Thanks for the help on the pic I helped
Ill post the pics tomorrow.
-
And I got a really good way to keep it cool and keep it from fighting each other and running the truck
I've don a twin momba befor on my custom sand rail I put a rustler trany in the front and one in the back
That's a also sand rail 0-60 in 2seconds and a top speed of 145mph no lie it was expansive.

My brain is breaking just trying to read this.

Two blown 454's in a Chevy Cruze can probably be done, but should it? I see this as the same sort of project. The resulting vehicle would not be fit for many purposes and I'm not sure it would still be a Summit due to all the changes that would be necessary...but you would have the satisfaction of saying, "I did it."

"last edited for language" this actually made me chuckle and not because of the curse word that was removed.

The ole forum moto aplies here "IF IT AINT IN PICTURES OR ON VIDEO IT DID"NT HAPPEN"
-
Ok I got some pic add vides but need to make a YouTube account but got no time
If u don't believe me I don't care I did it and its really for god sakes i took it to me local race track.
-
I hàve to admit 145 mph is pretty darn impressive. So you have to expect some doubters with this claim. We are not saying that we dont believe you it is simply that most people are still struggling to top 100 mph.
-
I'm still trying to hit that 100 foot jump
-
Ok here's wats going down sights mm are expensive and castle didn't give
Me the 25% off I'm going to use a different motor combo
Don't wory the new motor Combo is more faster than the mm and is a lot cheaper
It is a 1/5 scale motor and esc
-
Ok I got my brackets done and now sent off to prouder coat
Ha I know what your going to say why r u powder coating it just paint it. Well my friend is a manager at a powder coating shop and they wanted a object to test out there new type of powder coating kit so I told them they can do my brackets and now I got powder coated brackets for free yayah. So that I'd good but the bad is ill wont have pic up thill 5-7 day so ya.
-
Haha just keep doing it lol :)
-
ok to day some of my parts are coming in so when i get them ill take a pic on the car and off the car and triy to post up some pic.
-
I got some xtm 70,000 kg diff oil and put that in my diffs so if u guys want a nise smooth sounding working diff put that in but ill worn u I is really sticky And a pain to work with but it is woth it
-
And what ever u do don't listen to the guys on YouTube saying to put jb weld In your diffs it will kill them, I broke down laghing my butt off when they said to to that
-
Is there a difference in "kg" vs "wt"?
The reason I ask is 100k (or 100,000wt) is stock for the Summit differentials.
-
Ya it is just like sintetic or regular oil for cars the diff at that amount of presher needs a fine smooth like oil and the 70,000kg is like puting a mixture of peanut butter and water mix so it's really stilcky so if you are having diff problems this woud solve it it acts like a limited slip diff
-
I got pics but can't post it have problems help!
