Traxxas is selling currently some of the best engineered RC cars I have known in my life (I am 47). Not exaggeration or hyperbole. I seriously cant wait to see what their next new model will be.

Correction.....the thin plastic retainer split wide. The boot seems to be OK.

metal gear will transmit more abuse through itself downstream to other components. If plastic, and encounters sufficient abuse, it will let go and save components further downstream.
