We all reckon that you might like it quite a lot!!!
Welcome, and ENJOY!!
Al.
Is there a slight dimple to assist on the motor shaft?
Is the grub screw pointed at the end? Some 'flat' it a bit - larger surface area on the shaft.
Take care putting semi-permanent threadlock...
Regarding O/P, which X-Maxx do you have - 6S series 1 or 8S series 2 (with centre diff)?
Al.
I think part of it is also that the alternatives are so much better for similar or less money, and generally don't go wrong.
They're not infallible, and I suppose if we were to 'statistically...
Haven't been on the site for a month.
WOW!!
VERY sorry - the RC Community will miss him.
Has all been liquidated or will the shop continue?
Just had a look now and there's a 'Closeout Sale'....
Time for somebody to do a Gravedigger body then I reckon!!
Al.
Yes, Castle Creations - it was an old one I had 'on the shelf' in the garage - actually one they replaced after I nuked one (I'm on their blacklist for overgearing apparently!! LOL!)
I had...
I reckon the answer's quite simple - queue the ambulance and a plaster cast!!
That's the thing, we all love the idea of controlling ever-increasing size and power, but there is a responsibility to...
The Max5 / CC2028 seems to be the optimum 'reasonably priced' combo for (much) higher power / speed for the X-Maxx.
I'm quite happy with mine.
I 'scratchbuilt' my X-Maxx when only V1 parts existed...
Correct.
That's what I was saying. With the lower powered standard set-up it seems to work reasonably well.
I put 55k in my diffs, as my motor's a LOT more powerful, but kept it very light on the...
Definitely have to agree to disagree there.
I admit that V2's seem to run OK, and with that setup.
I also admit that my motor is a little more powerful than standard - a LOT more and was totally...
To be honest, I don't see the point in locking up a diff with 20M 'putty' - may as well fit a spool.
If you have the time and patience, you can 'dial it in' just the way you want it.
Wheelies are...
This is what I run - using a 'spare' C-C XL2 I had as ESC:

Video or it never happened !!! ........................

Fantastic Effort!!
Any chance of firming-up the suspension, fitting a covering 'inner tub' and making it an R/C ride-on again? Could be fun!!
Lick of paint would be nice - bright metallic orange...
I use 8 mm bullet CC connectors, and probably mainly for that reason.
I never seem to have much luck soldering up Traxxas connectors, particularly with the heavier gauge wire!
Al.
Remember, the stiffer the diff, the closer it is to locked.
If you're lifting the front too often - not steering, looks good for a while, but a bit of a pain when really wanting to drive it - thin...
Loving the blue one.
Do you still use the stock 'roll cage' parts - will have to I suppose to fit / remove the body.
Looking good.
I've had a couple of VGR cages over the years - well made and...
No replies?
Those skids seem to be covers rather than steel replacements - just add weight, and a little bling - which will scrape and probably rust in time ... perhaps not best option.
Personally,...
Good luck.
Hope you get it sorted.
Al.
Hi Steven,
Please don't be insulted by my reply - it is made with good intentions.
These trucks are big, heavy and pretty fast.
This obviously equates to some serious momentum being possible,...
Glad we got that sorted!!
My MERV's on 3S - through a Max Pro into a 5 mm shaft 1410 3800 KV - FLIES!! (Breaks - even when trying to Brake!) but has definitely been the wildest out-of-the-box RC...
E-Revo ERV (ERBE) - run 6S.
Mini E-Revo (MERV) - run 3S.
Wouldn't run a 1/10 ERBE 3S - surely that's under-powered? !!
Al.
Do you mean ERV or MERV?
Al.
I asked the question on 'the other forum' which nobody answered, but why are the front paddles on the wrong way around - at the end of the video?
