Yes, go down a few teeth, and make sure you vent your tires, if you are running stock tires. Don't need to blow up a tire.

If you're sticking with the VXL-6S ESC, you may have trouble with the ESC and Spektrum radios not playing nice. I've seen so many guys at my LHS that are ticked off because they won't work together....
I put bump stops inside my shocks. Buy 2 rebuild kits. Put one of the bump stops inside the shock, on the shock shaft, so when it hits full extension, it's gradually stopped, instead of yanking hard...
I'm afraid to fly mine. The Mighty TRX said there are no more flight control boards to be had, so one bad crash, and she's done. :((
I added a TQi radio setup. Just gotta get to a parking lot to test her out.
That's a brilliant idea, Francois!
If you have no steering under throttle, you've got a bad TSM module in your receiver. Time for a new receiver. Call the guys at the Mighty TRX, and send it in. It's a LOT cheaper that way.
One of the guys I run with 3D printed a plug holder he found somewhere (or designed on his own, I'm not sure) that works brilliantly. I'll have to ask him next time I see him.
Pro-Line makes a 1968 Trans Am Mustang race car body.
It would look righteous in Highland Green.[emoji41]

I need to find a 1967 Mustang and a 1968 Charger, so I can reenact the chase scene from Bullitt!
That's pretty sweet!
I replaced the LaTrax transmitter/receiver with a TQi with TSM setup, but haven't had time to take her out for a wring out yet. If it's anything like the 1/16 Rally, it's still going to be...
I put the Summit bumpers on, and the Summit head and taillights. No pics, but it works well. I need to reinstall the headlights, so I can drive at night.[emoji16]

Pretty much any 6s capable motor should work with the Traxxas ESC. You can send that motor back and get it replaced for around $70-75, which is cheaper than most aftermarket motors, so that's an...
I've run the purple springs front and back, but found them too stiff for anything besides jumping.
You might get the results you want by tightening the preload rings on the shocks.

I upgraded to the Hobbywing brushless setup, and so far, it's a blast. If anything, it's been a little too powerful.
Anybody done the Hobbywing brushless upgrade to the Rally? I'm running the little 4600kv motor and ESC, and when she's running 3S, she's uncontrollable.
I'm guessing I should dial out some of the...
I have a Castle Creations fan setup, and it seems to work just fine. In the future, it may get a Yeah Racing setup, since that looks really sharp, and more importantly, seems to work better due to...
Next diff will get 100k, then.

I have a similar problem with my 1/16 Rally. Those tires are hard, so I don't think it's ballooning. I'll be watching for solutions.

3.8v per cell is good. If it happens again, I'd call Traxxas and see what they say. Could be a bad ESC, or may just be a loose connection. Let's hope it doesn't happen again.

Thanks for the suggestions, all. I'll hold off on the aluminum bulks, and go plastic. She'll get all-metal drivetrain parts. I figure with the Trenchers I'm planning on running, I'll need them!
...
You said 3.8v? Is that 3.8v per cell?
It's possible that the landing might have jarred something and caused a reset of the ESC. Is she working properly now?

Thanks, Regular Guy. I want to make a pretty tough basher, but don't want to make it an aluminum tank. I definitely want the alloy bulkheads to protect the diffs.i just want it to be dependable and...
Hi, all. I'm starting to gather parts for an E-Maxx brushless build, and I'm looking for suggestions.
First up, I know I want aluminum bulkheads. Traxxas discontinued the front aluminum one, as...
