You could try to solder it on yourself, but it would be smarter to sent it in to Traxxas and get a re-designed one.

This issue works the same way a brushed one would. The XL-5 handles brushed motors down to 15 turns. It can handle any motor with a higher numerical turn value.

That one would get about 8 mins. of runtime from a 8.4v EP4600 on a VXL. I got at least 10 with a crap Venom 3600.
