Does it seem weird to anyone else to have a center diff in it, especially while ruining a spool in the rear? That just bugs me.
I wish traxxas would have made it 2wd/4wd selectable from the...
This is a 6 year old thread, but that is the original ESC that came in the Spartan, not a knockoff. They switched to a different ESC made for them by Castle later due to problems with this one.
The "torque biasing" center diff means it's a Torsen diff. It won't diff out like a normal center diff.
Do you mind if I ask why you disconnected the temp sensor? That's there to protect the motor from overheating.
Also do your brakes work normally now? You're running the esc in reverse for forward...
Did you unplug the temperature sensor? I seem to remember in another thread here someone from Traxxas said the stock receiver will limit forward throttle to 50% if the sensor is unplugged.
Is that the voltage on the telemetry?
Castle doesn't recommend the MMX for vehicles over 15Lbs and the X-Maxx weighs more than that, that's why the hobby shop doesn't recommend it.
Castle doesn't like to give Amp ratings for their...
If it has bullets all around and it's the shorter case then it would be a V2.
By V1 Mamba are you referring to the Mamba Monster Max V1? If so, it had wires for both the power and motor connections, not bullets.

He means the Slash 4x4.
I know everybody does it differently so I'm not looking for a specific formula. What I mean is, is it purely a mathematical calculation based on capacity and IR, or does it involve testing of the...
Jakey, if you don't mind me asking, how is the C rate calculated from the IR? Is it a mathematical formula? I've been researching all of this because it interests me but I haven't been able to find...
Interesting. Thank you for the explanation.
Yes I know that the C rating is not reliable, which is part of the reason I said you wouldn't feel a difference in your model by going to say a 50c pack when your 20c pack already supplies the...
Ok I measured some of my LiPos, all at identical storage voltage.
These two packs "feel" identical in my application and I would seriously doubt that the brand with no name has underrated their...
Really? I'm not arguing I'm honestly asking.
I'm very familiar with ohms law and the cells internal resistance. It's always been my understanding that the C rating was the rated amount of current...
Yeah I would also guess they did it lower stress on the drivetrain.
What do you mean?
If you set punch control on the esc you can limit the amps the motor/esc will draw on acceleration. I don't believe he was saying Traxxas did it to limit the batteries required, he just phrased it...
Everyone that has switched to a castle or other brand ESC says it has way more punch than the stock esc. They feel the stock ESC had very aggressive punch control.
You won't feel a difference with a higher rated pack if the vehicle doesn't pull enough amps to begin with.
Let's say you have a 5000mAh 25c pack and a 5000mAh 50c pack. The 25c pack is rated for...
I don't know if things have changed but I had much better luck calling Traxxas support than emailing them. You may want to give them a call
Wow sorry to hear that. I would think Traxxas would replace the whole truck. Got any pictures of the damage?
I can't remember where it was but I remember someone tested and reviewed a bunch of different LiPos and the Maxamps were no better and sometimes worse than the cheaper ones.
Seriously it's pretty...
They say 6400mAh+ meaning 6400mAh or higher.
Maxamps are very overpriced in my opinion. There are a lot of cheaper packs that are just as good or better, such as Traxxas or SPC.
Edit: For the price of those you could get 4 Traxxas 3s 8400mAh...
