Brushed diff gearing lowers the gear ratio. My Telluride came stock with brushless spec diff gears.

Yes you have to trim the back side of the tower around diff housing to make it fit the normal way.

I dont have the Hoss, but on traxxas info page it has 295 mm wheelbase.
