It's really not all that new anymore
How's the handling with this setup? It seems like it increases the center of gravity quite a bit with the larger motor and ESC mounted so much higher than the stock setup.
Whats the alternative? Just wait around and "hope" traxxas addresses the issue while continuing to "hope" your ESC doesn't burn up? That sounds like a much bigger waste of time then trying to be...
Over time air will still get in, that's why the hole is there
Nope, and looking at your img tags, it doesn't look like you're imbedding an actual photo.
EDIT: Looks like they are viewable using Chrome
I've owned max amps over the years, I'd stay away from them. Premium price for a very average performing pack.
Still can't see pics here.
So other than the ESC/Motor and mount, are there any other modifications that need to happen for this conversion?
Probably everything considering everything from the shock cap to the shaft are weak links in the stock ones.
ebay, he said so in the OP
How do you know? I for one would love to know how you determined that? Or is this more guess work like the number of xmaxx sold was?
Personally, I would cancel and wait. The "long long wait list,...
Seems like there are a few weak links on the truck shocks being the major one, everything from the shaft to the caps. I suppose the body is adequate enough. Power plant is the other big one, seems...
I for one am glad you posted this. I think it's a great add on. How bright are the LEDs? Bright enough to illuminate the road in front of you adequately enough to drive at night?
Given Rob's analysis of shipping crates vs number of xmaxx's that can fit, and Wolfslash's sales figures doubling from 5k to 10k in less than a weeks time, with zero explanation of how that happened...
This forum moves pretty slow, I don't see much clutter. If there was so much clutter making it hard to find posts you're looking for then that means by definition there are a LOT of people having...
How do you know how they were driving the truck? Please share
What is your source for these numbers? Less then a week ago you said 5000

I would add a capacitor bank to that ESC similar to what traxxas did with the XO1. I've added a cap bank to both by brushless E-Revo's. It will help filter the current spikes you get under braking,...
Seems like the shocks are a major weak point on this truck. With all the promo videos Traxxas has put out prior to it's release, they must have went through several themselves. Wonder if this is...
Sorry but no. I have plenty of RC cars (All but two are Traxxas) that I've run packs after packs through, none have caught fire. Yes, fires can happen, I'm not saying they cannot, but you seem to be...
That's the million dollar question. My guess is cost. Traxxas knows a $1000 RC will not sell, they found that out with the XO1. Sourcing an XL2+2028 from CC would have very likely moved the XMAX well...
That's not the larger picture since we don't know how many were sold. What we do know is the number of XMAXX owners on this forum is rather small, and even within that small sample we know of several...
I don't think he is. Why didn't they have this motivation for the XO1 or even the ERBE before it?
How every much you're willing to bet, I'll go ahead and take you up on that offer. The ESC has thermal protection for just that sort of thing.
Luckily, Traxxas made turning the feature off very simple... You simply don't press the button.
