Went 3 years without breaking anything but I didn’t drive super aggressive.
This last year I have needed to get some frustrations out and I have destroyed the entire front diff housing and gears,...
I’ve had to grind them down before to get them into recessed holes. I think if you look you can see one of the has gotten that treatment before.

Make sure the little side pieces are in the right direction and fully seating in the diff cup.
I’ve used 120k fluid before and things moved smoothly.

A set of these are always in my tool box.

When running in slush I guess temps aren’t much of a problem.

Couldn’t you just power them off of a 3S balance plug?
I use the 4S balance connector to run the 12v cooling fan on my X. It runs really fast too.

It’s the climb of shame on snow hills.
I drove off a 3 foot straight drop and broke something in the drive train...
It’s just a new model.
I am finding OEM parts for the Hoss are still hard to find so direct fit bodies and other aftermarket parts will just take time.

I have some 3S 10,000 mah SMC’s that I don’t think I ever hit LVC with them. Well over 45 minutes of bashing about in grass.
I have 4700 mah 4S batts and get over 30 minutes before they shut...
Yea, there is only so much power a chassis can handle. 4S on a 4Pede may be one of them. Hehe, I run 6 inch tires on 3S on my 4Pede and it’s a hand full at speed but bashes great.

If you are looking for a MAXX, then it will be cheaper and get you on the road much quicker to buy one.
I am in the middle of a Hoss upgrade on my 4Pede on 3S. Did the body and rear bumper...
Many see bending instead of breaking a big plus.
The only parts I use of their are arms and the rear carriers.
They are good but not for everyone.

Hoss rear bumper and wheelie bar came in last night. It is so much better looking than the original. Great upgrade.

I started out in the mid 90s with a Tamiya Lunchbox. I beat the snot out of it and kept rebuilding the shock mounts with brass stock, wire, and 5 minute epoxy.
Ah the joys of analog radios and...
I got my first Traxxas almost 20 years ago. I bought the Sport Maxx. Should have gone straight to the T as I added all the mods within 6 months.
I actually converted that one to Brushless and...
Yep, he was one of the threads that got me going. I just wanted to do it in smaller steps.
Starting with the body and rear bumper.
Next winter I will add the chassis, front bumper, and the...
Ah, thanks for clarifying.
I have only broken 1 steering knuckle in 4 years so I think I will avoid the RPM ones. I got a whole bag of inner bearings so I will just replace them beginning and mid...
I run the stock servo with the metal gear kit from the HD model. The gears cost $35 and Makes for a decent backup.
I would also pick up an aluminum steering horn. I stripped my original plastic...
I will see where it falls and decide what to do.
If it lands in front I will prolly trim around the lights I put in the bumper.
If it falls behind I will prolly just trim it off.

If you bash then avoid aluminum arms. The stock ones are pretty darn good. I bought a set of green RPM arms with their bolt kit. The Traxxas heavy duty arms is how I
prolly would go if doing it...
They sell a screw kit that fixes that issue.
If you want to use them on top in the front you need to melt the head into the arm a bit to clear the steering.
I use them top and bottom on all 4...

Welcome to the addictive money pit that is RC Trucks!
The only reason to NOT get an X-Maxx is either cost or a decent place to really run it.
It’s that good.
It’s truly dangerous if you...
After becoming addicted to the Traxxas Body Clip system, I know, it’s not perfect, I was jealous of the Hoss.
So a couple of weeks ago I jumped on the Hoss Forum and decided to get a Hoss Body on...
It’s only a problem to run a lower voltage battery if you start to gear down to increase your speed.
Since the voltage is set by the battery, the only way to get the additional power is to...
