I have a traxxas 3s lipo for my rustler and it barely fits, like you have to bend the wires back 180 degrees just to fit the battery. And the battery has to be short (for new LCG 4x4 rustklers)

I have proline badlands 2.8 but they are too tall and too skinny for the rustler. I got them premounted on some proline rims, maybe the rims are too skinny?

On 3s, I was breaking arms, shocks, axles.

On my rustler, the first to break was shocks and axles. Then the arms broke after a few sets of axles. Other than that, it has been problem free

The 4x4 vxl comes with two battery hold downs, the standard one for 3s flat, and an XL for the double tall like this. The ZEEE lipo should fit perfect with the larger hold down

You can fit aftermarket bodies if you swap the shock towers & shock mounts to appropriate slash 4x4 vxl.

I saw one of the Russian bodies. Soft, pliable polyurethane. Does not hold body shape well, sure it's "unbreakable" but so is an upside-down shoe box with body mount holes

Pinning the throttle and running flat-out does not make heat. Several hard starts and stops in succession make heat. A flat out run would have probably cooled your car down.

Yes the traxxas VXL system will get hot on 3S lipo. Don't worry that you overheated it, the ESC shuts down and blinks red before any damage can happen.
