Like bigtim1985, I actually use a DX4S for nearly all my other vehicles too, including a few Traxxas ones. But for the X-Maxx, I got the Bluetooth module and have been using it. The telemetry and...
I just got a piece of wire, maybe 6-8" (I didn't cut it until I was done), soldered and shrink wrapped it to the positive on the battery connector. On the other end, I actually just crimped a male...
The voltage sensor is plugged into the receiver's positive, so just gets the BEC's 5.9-6.0v. Totally useless.
But you just need to run a wire from positive on the battery connector, into the...
More accurately, the black wire is negative and the red is positive. But they're only carrying ~6v and an amp or five max from the BEC. The signal wire is the white one. Still not the cause of a...
Is this so they're warm when you're driving or is the change permanent-ish?
I think the chassis (especially a Summit that is fully enclosed) does a good job of protecting the batteries, so I've only used soft. But I wouldn't fault anyone for using a hard case LiPo and 8200...
I've got a Summit and an X-Maxx and while they're similar in size, I don't think one really replaces the other. I *love* driving the Summit slow. The two speed transmission, the remotely locking...
*Diffs* not shocks. To be clear. The shocks are like 30wt stock. The diffs are 10,000 wt front and 30,000 wt rear.
I think my diffs may have come w/o any diff oil in them from the factory, both the front and rear are very easy to turn and easily rotate the other wheel in the opposite direction. When I'm running,...
In that case on each side you have a 3S2P 10,000 mah "battery". Together, you have 6S2P 10,000 mah. And as you already learned, you need to take care that all the packs are at similar charge levels!...
Wait, what? Why would using the button to turn the truck off cause damage to occur? The only thing I can think of is that if you turn off the power, you might forget to unplug the batteries. Then...
Like DVail points out, 4x 5000 in parallel would be 20,000 mah of 3S. Does the truck even power up on 3S? If it does, it won't be much fun. ;)
So my ESC won't turn off after it enters LVC. Does anyone else's behave like this? Before LVC, it works as I'd expect. Press to turn on, longer press to turn off. But after LVC mode, quick press does...
I've read of people running 8S on the stock motor, but never on the stock ESC. Do you have a link to someone doing it on the stock ESC? I'm a little skeptical that the stock ESC will handle 8S,...
Because it was designed to run on both 4S and 6S. But no question, it is way better on 6S. :)
Has anyone tried the stock ESC on 8S? The few I've seen run 8S have swapped ESCs. Or are you talking about running a pair of 4S in parallel instead of series? You'd need a Traxxas connector that was...
You mean series and I assume the other battery is a 3S?
I don't think I'd do it, but I don't think it would be *too* crazy. They're similar capacity and assuming the second one is 3S, that is a...
Mine are supposed to arrive on Monday, can't wait! :)
The 6S packs I have for my RC PowerWheels car do this when I put them on the charger. X-Maxx does it too. There are "spare arrestors" you can get that use a little bit of diode, capacitor, resistor...
He really means two parallel adapters, one for each set. You'll parallel one pair of batteries and plug that into one of the trucks plugs. Then you'll do the same for the other pair of batteries. Now...
Supermegaman already got you, but Traxxas's new batteries w/ the new connector not only have the balance plugs built in, they also allow their chargers to automatically select the right parameters. I...
I've only people speculating that Traxxas may deny warranty coverage on an ESC fire if the battery isn't a Traxxas one. I haven't actually seen someone claim this happened to them. I mean, a LiPo is...
That is a much, much better guess! :)
Did you try reversing the throttle channel on your TX and then swapping a pair of wires on the motor? The motor wire swap will reverse the directions and the TX reverse will make it right.
I swear I've read that the X-Maxx's ESC is set such that reverse maxes at 50%. So it sounds like your ESC and/or motor were simply mistakenly reversed.
