I have been delighted to see the introduction of kits to the Traxxas lineup once again, and would love to see more. Memories of building kits from scratch are some of my best with this hobby. :)

You want part number 4687 for the spur gear. If you don't have a slipper clutch, this would be a good time to install one. You could consider swapping over to the modern slipper in order to have an...

Any part that you make stronger will, at least theoretically, shift the weak point elsewhere. That said, aluminum servo arms can be a good way to help eliminate steering slop. I do run one on my...

I would advise against using the 84-tooth spur if you're running Stampede/monster truck sized tires. The 84-tooth spur was included with the Rustler, which used smaller stadium truck tires. The...

I'm sure that you could find a receiver for one of those older 2.4 systems, but I'd personally just go with the newer ones. I wouldn't say that they are cheaper, just styled differently. (I do get...

Thanks for the update. I can't say that I'm surprised about it being that uncontrollable, that's a lot of speed for such a short hull that wasn't designed for it.

You don't sound like you need much convincing! ;)

But just think! The color options (even custom mixed colors)! The control over the air and paint flow! Oh how wonderful it is. :)

What parts break depends on where and how you drive. That said, I generally prefer plastic like RPM to metal. Metal parts can often just shift a weak point some place else.

I guess you can just install a fresh cup every time? I wonder if they're recyclable?

I do understand the frustration, though, it does seem wasteful to have to buy the whole set just for one part....

If you love painting, I highly recommend getting an airbrush. I started off with a cheap single action airbrush back in the day (was better than rattle cans simply for color options and whatnot)....

Stock gear pitch is 48, and that's plenty adequate for a vehicle like the Stampede. I, personally, don't recommend metal spur gears. I'd rather have the spur gear give out than a transmission gear....

Adding fans to a motor that was not designed for the vehicle it is being used in honestly won't help a ton. The manufacturer recommends not using that motor in 4x4 vehicles for a reason.
