I have no idea, I just remember a guy at the local meet said he had plastic something because his slash was really old.

I think he converted an ancient bandit or something so that may be why.

Honestly the old saying volt up gear down (lower KV on higher cell lipo with less pinion teeth) has always worked well for me and I have never burned out a motor.

    I own both.

Let me sum up my experience really simply.

Slash 4x4 is for bashing only.. But only if you use it as intended and don't have something better.

I experimented with heatshrink and it worked well.

Basically I shrunk the section over the female end and used a cable tie over the male end.

With 5mm shaft just treat it as normal and stick with 32p pinions as 32p is stock on the 4x4.

If you already have that combo it's ok but the sl4sh is heavy and a lower kv motor is better unless...

They were sold to me as x01 diffs for the slash 4x4 so maybe they had different outdrives installed?

Could be either binding causing the left front wheel to not spin as fast or the alignment is way off.

I'd start by checking all four wheels spin the same speed in the air.

    Good morning.

Is it the motor or esc that is getting hot?

If it's the motor then make sure the pinion is not too tight with the spur gear.

You would be using buggy wheels more or less, but there are some 17mm 2.2/3.0 wheels and they fit normal proline tires.

For me in Australia the x01 upgraded parts cost more then importing a complete x01 diff from the US.
