Just a basher here and I have been using the original HCG chassis and have no need for the LCG. I guess it comes down to personal choice. Get the 4X4 it's a blast.

I have had no problem getting a dark black on my parts. Large pan or pot 3 bottles of dye. Bring to a boil put parts in turn off heat and let soak over night.
Get a temp gun and don't overheat the motor or esc.
Beg, borrow, or steal one. LHS or hit an auto repair shop and I bet you find someone who can remove it.

I have been running Tekno F&R and RPM arms F&R for years with no breakage issues I would relate to the arms.
Might be costly BUT the option to have em would be nice. I miss my old Rob Mac Dodge body. Really nice graphics.
You don't need specific clay. I bought a pound of non hardening modeling clay from Hobby Lobby about 2 years ago for 3 bucks and it works great. Never falls off.
