I agree with Greatscott that the internal BEC of the Hobbywing is pretty strong. However, it's probably better to stay at 6V, since the Eco Power shift servos can take 6V tops.

To remove the motor, first, remove the three screws holding the motor cover. After that, the motor and motor mount should slide out vertically.

If you can, check anyways to make sure there isn't anything wrong with the ESC. If it is able to reverse without a problem not connected to the drivetrain, then it is most likely not the ESC.

To check if it is shifting, see if the servo has pulled the shifter all the way.

You can also remove the motor to see if it reverses without any load.

To replace the oil, you need to unscrew the shock cap. For the springs, you just need to take off the spring retainer (compress the spring, slide the retainer up the shaft and pull it out).

I've only ever used Marine grease and the Traxxas grease, and I can't really tell the difference other than the color.

As for a whole LCG chassis, I haven't seen one yet for the TRX-4.

The tires wear out fairly fast if you drift around the parking lot, but it looks like you have too much positive camber.

I run 2 hole pistons 30W front, 35W rear on my Slash 2wd, but I never jump it or anything like that.

No, you actually still get to keep it. The rear differential drops right in and fits without drawbacks. I think the video you were referring to was made before Traxxas came out with the rear diff....

The TRX-4 has the XL-5 HV, so it can take 3s no problem.

Also, make sure the bladders/diaphragms are seated properly (flat against the cap).

If you are planning on getting wider hexes, the front tires may rub the body when turning, so you may need to adjust and trim the body.
