I am getting older now so durability is a bigger factor for me. I will get one for the front also. I bought the RPM arms long before I knew about the HD Traxxas arms.
Rear diff gears were fine....
Other than always balance charge on a fireproof surface and setting cutoff as high as possible I don’t do anything special.
They seem to last 3-4 years if I don’t replace them for other reasons...
I was running in 20f weather and was jumping snow piles and did a bunch of cartwheels. They are all original and have taken a lot of abuse
Realized I didn’t have enough shock fluid. These...
And if you are going to take it apart to replace the servo gears then you may as well install an aluminum servo horn. I use Hot Racing’s. I use HR Spurs and generic pinions.
I also installed the...
I bought the full set back in March. Just haven’t broken anything in the rear end till now.
If I have to take it apart I like to put it together better. Upgrades are fun. Things breaking in the...
Broke a shock cap running in the cold so I guess it’s time to start the planned winter rear end upgrades.

I loved driving my T/E Maxes, but I just found them over complicated and fussy to keep adjusted right. The 8 shocks were a PITA too.
Now I am more into simple and reliable.

I’ve started using T-Rex Brute Force tape and heat gunning it. You need a knife to cut the stuff.
I also like using Flex Seal over fiber mesh.
It’s a lot how you thrash it. My Body is 4 years...
The van body is cool.
Basically you will want to keep the driveline parts from the power up kit. Drive shafts should be the first to break.
I added a Maxx 6 I bought when I upgraded to 8S...
I would give Traxxas support a call on Monday and see what they say. They will likely send you all new parts for that area.

My 8S is 3 years old and I have never had a problem with bearings breaking. But I am admittedly a less insane driver than many on here.
If you plan on doing a lot of jumping, and who doesn’t,...
Been running mine for 2 years now. Also have the 50 and the 46.
Money well spent.

They seem to be concentrating on other 2.0 models like the Maxx and Hoss.
I don’t really follow the rest of their lines though so not sure what other new stuff they put out.
I’m sure a trip...
RPM uses the bend but not break theory.
I personally do not like the pin system Traxxas uses so I like their bolt kits.

My first run out I popped a hinge pin out on my new RPM arms. Bought the bolts that day. I
You can use them on the upper arm too. You just need to heat the cap head and push it into the nylon.

I got rid of my E-Max’s when I got my X.
I still keep a 4 Pede to run when I don’t have the space for a X. Or when I am occasionally waiting for a part.

Just found this at Wally World today.
Has anyone had any experience with this stuff? It sounds like the Teflon dry lube I use now but silicone.
It’s made for cables, pulleys, valves, and...
Yea, prolly not worth a HCG conversion for 2 two year old batteries. They always worked fine on my X. Don’t think I ever made it to LVC with them.
I’ll throw them into storage and figure...
Couple of things to check, make sure the bearing on the servo horn is in the right slot.
Also if you stripped the horn you may have stripped the servo gears. The metal gear upgrade kit is a...
I went 8S on my X so now I have 2, 3S 10,500 Mah batteries collecting dust.
Think I can make em fit? It’s gonna be tight.
Wonder if I kept that old chassis around?
...
Yea, that’s the problem I ran into.
Just been to busy to figure out something else.
Haven’t seen any other kits made specifically for the Maxx though. Looks like I may have some time this...
And make sure you use your blow torch to gently the dry the “solvent” on your truck.

You can always start with Traxxas.

A few months ago I blundered into a swampy mess at a pretty good clip. It ended up sunk to the windshield 20 feet from dry land.
I just kept on driving. It took about 2 minutes to get out. Never...
There were some early reports of XMaxxs breaking diff gears with the self righting mechanism. I was only running 6S at the time so it never really worked for me.
