You may be at low voltage cutoff too if you are using 5000 mah batteries

Have you had your props off, if you have they may have been put on wrong! I've done it!!

Watching the youtube clips,an Xmaxx owner has to take ESC out and send it to Traxxas or take to LHS and they can do it! I think the traxxas app would be the best way but so far thats not an option!

Update, got an email today and the extra batt is on its way! So it is worth it in the end!

Tbone wheelie bar will protect your expensive xmaxx as well. I have one but can't find any 3s batts at the moment, so i can't evaluate it

Yes the stock bumper stays on! Im in Ontario so it took awhile. The front bumper goes on over top of everything and the wheelie bar you have to take off the rear skid plate!

Just ordered a skid, already got the wheelie bar and front bumper. I really like the protection their products give!

The skid is just new as it wasn't on their site when i ordered before!

Also with the module you can do a lot of settings instead of using the set buttons on the transmitter, that in itself i think is worth it. I just ordered one today!

From what i have read it could be thermal! Is the fan on the esc running? That would be my first check.

T bone makes a great product. Their front bumpers are usually huge but protects the front end of your rc.
