I really need to do that on my next rebuild. Looks very good. Nice job.
I have two xmaxxs and two maxxs. If I could only have one it would be the xmaxx hands down.
Get the maxx. The stampede will need a lot upgrades when you get it and it will still be very dated.
I have never had a traxxas esc last a year. Unless it was rebranded castle. Vxl6 8 months. My maxx esc about 3 months. I been using hobby wing esc and selling the traxxas esc.
Depends on the driving type. Wide open lots of full throttle I get about 10 mins on a pack that size. Same pack playing on ramp 30 mins. Just hiking a trail a good hour.
Toughest truck I have ever seen. Been in the hobby many years. For me I like it with widemaxx and taller wheels. I would say I am satisfied as I have two of them.
I would stick with stock. A arms are easy to replace if you didn’t break the a arm may have broken the bulkhead. But as other have said gpm parts are not bad.
I would start with 4s. Remember no reason to pin the throttle all of the time. Once you collect a few 4s batteries get a used xmaxx then the cost is spread out.
This. Because I need
Super happy with these. I also have the widemaxx kit and also run plus 6mm hubs.
For that money just buy new. Go to the local shop and maybe they will cut you a deal.
Bet that thing is a blast to drive. I have ran on 6s and it will back flip like mad. But now knowing a 8s maxx is out there I better step up my game.
I use the max6 and stock 6s motors. Always run 8s. Very happy with the setup and been running this for over 3 years in one of my trucks with zero failures.
I was lazy esc failed. Replaced esc and run 6s. No motor or gearing change. I still run on 4s most of the time but 6s is fun you will enjoy it.
Switch tires. Common with stock tires. My xmaxx blows tires every time I take it out it seems. Do you run in a rocky area?
Swap the esc and run on 6s. Honestly I think changing the esc first is a better option.
Bodies require maintenance just like anything else. I am big fan of duck tape and replace as necessary in high ware areas. Also reinforce all holes and always drill any cracks ASAP.
I would guess the esc. Give traxxas a call before the warranty is up, plus they will walk you through you some test.
Are you trying to use logic on the Internet? Foolish.
Yeah the price is not bad. I don’t have much issue with them (bent 1 recall) and I jump a lot but tend to land in dirt and land flat. I think...
I have two maxxs. The 2nd one I took the arms, and tires off and eBay them right off the bat. If I did it again I would sell the esc and stock drive shafts also. The new wide maxx kit comes with long...
Calibrate the throttle. That Would be my first guess based on what you did if The drivelines truly free.
Good idea. I used some xmaxx ones that I cut down seemed better but not great.
Best course. I have never had traxxas made esc last long. My maxx is 6s now. I hope you have good luck with the truck like I do. I beat the crap out of it and takes it.
I had the same issue with adapters. Change the ends or back of the Throttle.
Most of it is overseas junk. Not much we can do about it.
I got the GPM one OP. Been holding up fine so far plan on upgrading the servo at the same time.
