Where the rubber meets the road is were the action happens!
Good tires are key. With the wider rear, this actually improves steering.
So it will probably help the push you aren’t worried about...
I have some. I personally wouldn’t pay retail for them. I got mine with used rigs and let others pay the depreciation.
They are good shocks but not noticeably better on my rigs. Ive got a spring now...
I have the J Concepts over tray. Works great in the winter. It definitely traps heat all other times of year.
I have opened up the front to let in air under the hood, so far no crud gets in there....
A narrower front end turns more, so inversely, a wider front end will turn less.
That can be a good thing if you are trying to correct oversteer.
A wider rig is generally more stable.
The protek...
Buying an inexpensive temperature gun is always a good idea to keep an eye on temps.
Driving style and terrain play a huge role as well in overheating. Grass is hard on the gear...
I stand corrected
19/90 is stock gearing. 30/83 is really high, unless you have a low kv motor.
That’s speed run gearing, not good for bashing or sustained use. It will kill a vxl!
Slash 4x4 rear axles are a nice,...
Check motor/esc wires and all connections
Yep. I was hoping you did too. Lots of good info in the manual...
I just now googled “switch vxl to lipo” and got the link to the manual...
There’s the linear white springs, 4# rating, which are stock on Rustlers and Stampedes.
There’s the progressive white springs, 4# rating I believe, from the Slash.
There are also red springs, 2.5#...
Did you switch the esc to lipo mode? You may be triggering over voltage if still in nimh mode.
Oval racing is out there. Some awesome videos on YT of rcs racing on velodromes.
I wish we could get that going locally for oval racing but not enough commitment.

Maybe the Stampede Grave Digger mounts will work. I’ve used the rear before with high bodies.
Well I found a stock diff, stuffed full of grease, hence the different feel.
Hopefully that will help the under steer that I have with this chassis.
That would be ironic, due to extra effort I’ve...
What they said^
I was talking 2wd. lol.
On my 4x4 it was the above mentioned bearing that went and took out my spur.
And I recall now I put a new spur in it and chewed it right away.
Then I...
Good point. Are the pads heat glazed? Is the disc blued at all?
Check the bearing race at the clutch for melting/deformation.
Also check motor and top shaft bearings as well. Any wobble isn’t good...
Your control arms are the biggest drag in grass and are the same for LCG and hcg.
Bigger tires and shock positioning will help the clearance. Adjustable mounts will help too.
My first bet would be that you need to change your pinion. I’ve seen countless people post like this after so long on the original spur, then shred, shred and shred...
Most likely the front face...
I use a soldering iron or just heat up an awl with a lighter and melt my vent holes to decrease the chance of tearing.
The caps with upgraded shafts are a great combo. I have some.
Rebuild costs on the ultra shocks/big bore are nice and low.
I have both plastic and aluminum shock bodies on various rigs.
Probably. They really just support the body so I think it will be ok...
I took about 1/2 of the material away along the lower part of the nerf bar.
The curved part that flexes is still the same so...
Unexpected delay in rebuilding. Blew out either the idler or ring gear in my primary truck...
Luckily I had a rear end more or less ready to go. Not newly rebuilt but I gotta have at least one!
...
I don’t know but this I what I think...
The outboard ends are different but the inboard are the same, I think.
Compare them to the rears inner shaft. See if they slide right in the rear outer...
I have trimmed them down with snips to keep them from hanging out the bottom of the shell I run.
Not sure if that will help with your shell...
