Has anyone built a housing with a bearing in it to run the drive shaft through in the middle of the chassis?

I just don't know what size to get. I want 26mm in the front and 30mm in the back. Do do I need to buy around a 4mm spacer to make them line up? Or a little bigger actually. Maybe 7mm. I just hate to...

Can't do aluminum on a steel pinion. Do they make aluminum pinions? I can look it up. But I'm running 4000kv on 3s and 4s eventually I think so I'll for sure run steel. Thanks!
