Why the caster hubs?

Don't bother with the aluminium rear hubs and RPM arms - get the Traxxas HD arms (as strong as the RPMs, but without the hinge pin problems) and either RPM rear hubs or Proline rear hubs. (Both...
I've just got one of these also. I suspect they're all made in the same factory in China anyway...
Only disappointment is that it doesn't have a "fuel" gauge like my last charger, as far as I can...
Why do that though? I opened mine right up and filled them up, cycled the shock a few times to release any bubbles, topped it up and put the cap on. Seem to work fine...

Does that make any difference? I did mine up with the rods fully extended.

Nice. I also installed one and mine seemed to line up OK. How did you install yours at first then? Just without the bearing?
I'm running mine from a BEC because I didn't want to have to mess...
I guess 30 - 40 minutes probably isn't running it around at full throttle though. Going flat out everywhere does tend to eat the juice quite quickly...

What6the benefit of the springs, if you don't mind me asking?

Hi folks,
I currently have a little 2 channel SkyRC charger for my batteries, and whilst it's nice enough, now that I have the Xmaxx I'm using higher capacity batteries and having to charge more...
I'm just about to install a Promodeler DS1155. It's pretty powerful. Just installed one in my X-Maxx, so should be ample for the...
I have two of the 1155s to go in my Maxx and X-Maxx. Not fitted them yet though.
I'll let you know how I get on. Fingers crossed no issues.
John didn't mention anything when I spoke to him,...
Yeah, that she'll definitely fits [emoji1787]
I know what you mean though - it almost looks cooler because of it. Tiny body, then big ol' wheels and chassis.
Just hope somebody doesn't see it...
I've just ordered two of the DS1155's myself, which should be delivered to me tomorrow. I'll be running one in my X-Maxx from a Castle BEC 2.0 waterproof.
Thee are servos that can run straight...
Or you could just adjust the preload by tightening the shock collars down...

They actually look pretty nice. I wonder if we can get them here in the UK...

I guess that's at the expense of torque, so should reduce wheelies a bit as well?
Sent from my LYA-L09 using Tapatalk
That should give you a bit more top end speed, right?

Indeed, that's what I said. [emoji16]
Any way you look at it though, additional unsprung weight is not a good thing, unless it's a crawler.

What is the recommended spur and pinion for the stock motor and ESC?
Keep thinking about ordering GDS or Hot Racing items ready for the inevitable...

Not seen those, I'll have to have a look. That said, I'm remaining on stock motor and ESC at the moment, so have no immediate need for them.

Kevin Talbot runs the stock wheels and tyres and I think he has upgraded ESC and 6S motor on 8S.
Is there a good wheel/tyre combo between the two? Something tougher than stock, but lighter than...
Is this with Widemaxx kit? Seems like they would be very soft. Even Traxxas say 30/50.

I agree, I'd keep it as low as possible as you can for your uses.
People in warmer climates might want higher weights though.
That said, Traxxas recommend 30/50 and they're in Texas...

That's where I am at the moment, making a mess of it every time. I don't think of myself as an idiot, but when I try to solder I do a great impression of one! [emoji1787]

I believe the bosses on the centre bar are for the light kit controller, so don't worry about that. [emoji106]
