The problem with going to stronger spurs and pinions is then the kids will break the more expensive and time consuming parts to replace like diff gears, diff ring gear, idler gear, output shaft, etc,...
With the vxl you also get the 6533 tqi receiver along with the tqi radio that has TSM built in and many say it has better range than the tq tx/rx set on the brushed model.
Good call.
I have been looking at the chassis plan and am interested in all the extra room you can stuff longer motor and 4-6s ESC. The bigger wheels might make it easier for speed runs too..
Now I’m...
You can get the vxl3s motor and esc here way cheaper than msrp

I have been running 48p Spurs with my 2wd velineon set up for years and no issues. If he keeps “crashing spurs”, whatever that means, on nimh no less, it’s a mesh set up issue.
Go to my post...
Stock slash vxl comes stock with 48p gears. If you are not stripping yours as it is, there is no need to upgrade.

The lack of information after the initial “tease” of the drag truck is...unfortunate. Meanwhile the 4tec 3.0 is out and all the info is released down to screenshots and specs. I don’t think I saw too...
if you paint the f100 body right it should get to 95% of what the custom 95 desert truck looks like
A Maxx roller would be really cool.
Also check rpm

3s on the 2wd is fine, just watch the temps as mentioned already and adjust the slipper so it isn’t too tight(uncontrolled wheelies and flips) or too loose (overheating slipper pads)
It’s not ideal, I have one and you need to trim a ton off the wheel wells to not rub any tire bigger than the standard sct tries.
Google “slash 2wd 17mm adapters”
Take a look at proline jeep gladiator sct bodies, Baja bug, or the Megalodon. All three are open wheel, not truly truggy by any means, but something.
The width is a problem as 1/8 truggies are wiiiide compared to the slash so the bodies are going to be over 7 inches wide and rub
It’s perplexing why no one bothers to make a rustler like body...
Is anyone else consuming extra large amounts of popcorn waiting for this to drop?
What chassis is that? Looks really slick
In case you want steel ones that are more durable than aluminum

Slightly modified of course
Hmm have you tried the proline prime tires? They don’t balloon much I recall
Proline has a street fighter line too that works great on pavement
The lack of softer and taller tires for SCT is baffling, for sure
The closest I have seen is the associated DB8 wheels and tires that are very soft. That would require 17mm adapter though
...
I was thinking about this the other day, the only thing missing is a shorter Rustl4r since we have a hcg and lcg of each wheelbase except the shortest one
The fiesta st uses shorter telluride arms so much narrower than the older rally vxl.
