I had an engine go bad on my 4Tec Nitro and recently replaced it. I also replaced the plastic gears (some teeth were broken) and the clutch shoes (spring was broken and shoes worn).
I replaced the...
This is awesome! And they have one left. Thanks!
I noticed some teeth missing from the plastic gears on my 4Tec 3.3 Nitro and am looking to replace them.
Since I bought the car used I have no idea if the gears installed are optional or standard....
I think I found the problem. The plastic sensor bracket goes on top of the motor.
I originally installed the bracket between the motor and the mount
I need to replace the clutch bell on my 4Tec Nitro. The clutch spring broke and made a groove in the clutch bell.
I have looked all over and have not been able to find one yet. The local hobby...
Yes I am using the stock gear ratio
Screws are not self tapping. The screws go through the chassis, through each end of the motor mount then into the plastic frames on either side
I tried this and the motor mount will not move unless I completely remove the two end screws.
If I then adjust the gear mesh the two outer screws will not go back
I like procedures that simplify the process. I looked at this today but am a little confused at the two additional screws that hold the motor mount. There are 4 screws that slide to allow the motor...
Yes I did use the flywheel with the magnet
I replaced the RPM sensor wire after finding a fraying wire. I also replaced the flywheel as part of a engine replacement.
For some reason the RPM sensor is not working now.
I installed the...
I ran through tanks 5 and 6. It runs really good but has a little bog on acceleration. It I blip the throttle during initial acceleration it keeps going. If I try to keep accelerating it will bog...
What is the procedure to set the gear mesh?
I finally have all the parts and installed the TRX 3.3 engine today. It only took a few seconds to start up.
I ran through tanks 1-4 as per the break-in instructions. The day was called on account...
This diagram is awesome. Thank you very much
I forgot to remove some parts when I traded in the engine and it was too late to get them back. So I had to order them.
I could not find the clutch bell anywhere so I will have to reuse that.
...
I completely agree. I bet that is why it stalled the other day. The clutch spring must have completely broken and the clutch was always at least partially engaged. That is why I could not get it...
I am wondering if the clutch dragging was why it would not idle.
The clutch spring had unhooked and was wearing a groove in the clutch shoes and the bell housing.
I looked at the engine...
I took the head off to take a look at the inside of the engine and I saw some dirt and debris of some sort. Not sure how it got there. It was way to much to just have sucked a little from the tank....
I ran it before without the added fuel filter. Same issue
I am so fed up with this engine. It runs for a bit refuses to run for any length of time. A new carb and days of tinkering with adjustments refused to solve the problem.
High speed has been...
I completely agree on that one. There is definitely something screwy with the old carb.
Thanks
Who hoo. Problem solved. It was the carb.
I installed the new carb today and after a few cranks it fired up, runs well at idle.
I only adjusted the carb slightly because it is considerably...
Sorry for not mentioning the glow plug. I am using whatever one that was with the stock kit.
I don't know the part number off hand.
Good idea to check the header and exhaust. I took it off a...
I tinkered with the adjustments again and it will not idle or run at low speed properly.
I adjusted the carb slider gap using an old wire automotive valve gage.
It runs good at mid to high...
I have a 4Tec 3.3 Nitro vehicle that I bought used so I partly disassembled some parts for cleaning and inspection.
The rear diffeential and gears look really good but there was only a little...
