I'm a bit late to the discussion, but here's my two cents. The stock tires are pretty nice as is - not as good as some aftermarket tires, but good enough to be better than most. As for aftermarket...
In short, the smaller the pinion (gear on the motor), the easier it is for the motor to turn, but is slower. The larger the pinion, the harder it is for the motor to turn, but is faster. The smaller...
RC Review is a great channel, with tons of stuff on crawling (tires, foams, wheels, suspension setup, bodies, kits, RTRs, etc):

Welcome to Traxxas Forums!
1. You don't have to always balance charge, but try to aim for always if you can. Doing so will give you more buffer room in case you have to fast charge at an...
I don't think Customer support would know (or care) ... try leaving a comment on the video?
When I am choosing music for my videos, I just listen to random songs one by one to see which one suits...
I am not sure, but some of the music may be copyrighted. If it's not copyrighted, you can check out the youtube audio library to see if it's there. Other than that, you might just have to ask Traxxas.
Yes, this is the right place to ask :) The TRX-4 and Slash 4x4 are both well-designed vehicles. However, they are very different vehicles in terms of purpose, parts, and handling, so it's a good idea...
Huh, didn't realize that the UDR had that. I think it's called the "rear planetary drivetrain" on the bottom right of the exploded view.
IMHO, the TQ and TQi controllers feel pretty nice, but it's kind of hard to drive low speed with them since the trigger sticks a little bit when doing so (static friction is too high). Other than...
That looks like the center diff (with the sun and planetary gears):

Yes, you have to disable the smart charger so you can manually input the battery info (for the EZ Peak plus just hold the two buttons). Select the battery type (LiPo/NiMH), then select the charge...
Traxxas ID LiPos have the balance connector built into the main connector, so an adapter is needed to charge on a non-ID charger:

That looks awesome! There are also lots of aftermarket accessories for it as well (including rear spare tire mounts, traction boards, gas cans, roof rack, bumpers, etc.).
Here's one that I found...
Sorry if I caused any confusion, but the red ones are also made of plastic (not silicone). The red shock piston has a smaller diameter compared to the stock one, so there's not as much pack in the...
Yes, you should be able to do all the charging/discharging functions with the correct adapter. Also, be sure to plug the balance charge lead to the charger in addition to the main connector.
The 2wd version has the same differentials. The 4x4 version has different ones (same material, just lower gear ratio).
I agree with Titanium94010, the rebuild kit is pretty cheap, and you can also upgrade the shock piston to the red silicone one instead of the stock plastic one.
It really depends on the price. The body will cost at least $90 on eBay ($150 from Traxxas direct), and the wheelbase conversion $30, so I would only consider it if it's at least $120 under the price...
The Holmes Hobbies Trailmaster 550 is the same price (or cheaper) compared to the stock motor, so you might want to check that out.
Brushless systems are more efficient, so for the same speed, it would have longer run times. However, it may "shorten" your run times, if you are driving faster.
As for ESC and motor combos, the...
The fronts are the "Long" size, and the rears are "XXLong" (color does not matter). For the springs, I am using TLR 10SCTE springs:...
I would also take a look on Amazon to see what they have. I have seen full sets of aluminum plates for around $30-$40.
I think the differences are the chassis, suspension arms, wheels & tires, and body (maybe gearing as well). VXL stands for Velineon the ESC and motor combo.
These are the ones that I am running on my GTRs:

Most RWD RCs are rear motor, and they are pretty rear heavy. The reason I put the weight on the front was that I wanted a bit more front bias so that weight feels more evenly distributed (just a...
