Well I got a good comparison with 1/8th buggies at the weekend. I've been bashing my E-Revo for a few years now like this:

But it seemed to handle so...
I ran a Novak 4.5 for quite a while, performance was great, but I ran into a few reliability problems. The Novak 5.5 may be more reliable but you will be pushing it to get 45mph.
I've recently...
I've been running a Tekin RX8 and Novak HV4.5 for a while now, I've not actually got that much time with this setup, but the last two runs I've damaged two Novak rotors. Basically the rotor has come...
Yeah the 14mm rotor may be a good call.
It seems to run well, top speed is similar to when I was using the Novak ESC, maybe a little more torque. The motor definitely seems to run cooler, I think...
After the rotor shattered on my HV4.5 taking out the motor, sensor board and ESC all in one go I needed a new setup. I'd already got a new HV4.5 motor before realising the ESC was also damaged. So...
My Novak served me well for a few years but recently I had the rotor shatter which seemed to take out both the sensor board in the motor and the ESC. Repair/replacement is nearly the same as going...
Yeah I was thinking of taking a crash mat along!
Thanks everyone.
Front flips definitely seem harder to land, I only played with dipping the nose when my friend was filming, I'll just have to stock up on spares and spend a bit more time playing...
E-Revo back flipping at the bmx track in high quality, a little bit at the start of my friends Savage.

 really sorry guys, that was an accident! The real links there now!
Here's a great video my friend made of my HV4.5 powered E-Revo at our local bmx track. There's a little run by my friend's Savage at the start. Then it's all E-Revo, he gets some great shots of mid...
Awww come on, I can't believe pulling off a clean standing backflip doesn't still make you smile a little bit :).
What is your 'speedo'?
GPS should be very accurate over long distances, but might under read max speed on a short high speed run, you need to be at full speed for a number of seconds do get a...
Inspired by your vid :).
Looks good, one thing though, you've only used a thin wire to connect the center +ve and -ve connections of the packs together, this wire will be taking the full charge current as they are connected...
How did you do that? I could really use some more packs :p
Yeah, I'm sure there was a balance somewhere between not enough throttle and so much that it wheelied on landing, I just didn't quite find it :). Was tempting to try for two flips, but decided...
Well I got my truck back flipping today, don't really know why, gearing 14/68, top speed was nothing that special, GPS'd on a short run to 43mph. One thing I had played with on the Novak since the...
The fan makes a big difference to temps. I'm not sure you can rely on the temp cut off as a gurantee to protect the ESC. Why do you run an Rx pack? Maybe run an UBEC instead?
Thanks, that's the kind of thing I was thinking of, I could imagine it all in one unit though, for people who just want to know how fast they've gone.
I guess something like this, but simpler and without the strap.

Given that you can get really small GPS receivers to plug into a PDA, you'd think someone would come up with a small GPS receiver with a simple speed readout that we could power off the main battery...
I've no other reference to check the Sentry, but it fits in line with the sensor lead, so I would guess the rpm is fairly accurate, I've not heard of many results from other people using it.
I'm...
Thanks for the concern :). My truck has taken a few hits, I'm doing okay at back flips in the air, still no standing flips though. I've tried some different LiPos, which I think are decent and even a...
Give it some throttle in the air and as you take off, should have no problem keeping the nose up. Just experiment and get a feel for how much you need. As long as you don't land with loads of...
