Get a ir temp gun. So you know what temp things are at. I try to keep my motor and esc under 160°f. Once hit 180 I let them cool off or see what is wrong.

Slipper has no impact on top end speed if adjusted correctly. If too loose it could affect top end. Since it would take much longer to get to top end.
