Grip's right. I thought (I don't know why) you were talking about your steering tie rods. You definitely want to go metal there. I made mine back before Traxxas came out with their upgraded metal...

I said above that the original 6s 1600kv motor will run on 8s. It will just run hotter than a geared up 1200kv/1400kv motor which will decrease its' overall longevity, but it will still run on 8s....

A 1200kv has more torque at 1200 rpms than a 1600kv does at 1600 rpms. That's why you can go to a taller gear set with a 1200kv motor than you can a 1600kv motor driving the same load. Having a...

Yes, I agree. You can run the original 6s 1600 motor on 8s, but for longevity I'd run it on 6s. I also agree that the 1600kv motor has more speed than the 1200kv or a 1400kv if all three are using 6s...

Yes, I'd call Traxxas too. Something crazy is going on here, cause my Xmaxx, Emaxx, XO-1, and Summit all have Traxxas ESC's, or either Castle or rebranded Castle ESC's. My Super Ray has a Fuse ESC,...

The 1600kv motor is what came with the original 6s Xmaxx. The 1200kv is what comes with the new 8s Xmaxx. If you ran the original 6s Xmaxx 1600kv motor in your 8s Xmaxx, you'd have to only run 6s...

I don't know if you can get them anymore, but I have a Kershaw motor mount. I've been very happy with it. When I got it, it along with the ESC mount, they were 40 bucks for both. One thing you should...

When your Spartan hits it's preset LVC your speed will drop down to 50%. When you see this happen, it's time to bring in your boat. If you don't want to hit your LVC, and you have telemetry, you can...

Out of all the RC vehicles a boat is really toughest on batteries. It doesn't surprise me that your batteries work with your Slash and not your boat. You can run 35c batteries in a Spartan, but both...
