#1: Use the S.BUS2 input for the battery pack.
#2: I would probably start fresh but you can still try to run the engine on the old fuel. It may not be as powerful/run at all, but I'm too cheap to...
The metal flakes you are talking about are most likely causing the glow plug failures. Turn over the engine, flush it with WD-40, and get the metal flakes out of the engine. You're gonna loose...
After a new clutch, she is running like herself again. No longer taking off at idle, no longer stalling constantly... I'm finally getting to having fun with this truck. I was able to measure 59 MPH...
I did discover that the carb o-ring is fine and has no leaks, and I also found a minor head leak with windex that was fixed easily by tightening the head bolts.
Clutch should arrive tomorrow....
Appears the picture for the clutch is broken. Oh well. It's shot. Believe me. I'm getting the part in the mail soon and I think it may be the culprit, as the engine runs fine without it on.
1. Hard...
I've been running nitro for a few years, and know how to tune an engine. I seem to be having a problem with my 3 month old 3.3. At really any type of hard acceleration, the engine dies. Slipper is...
I would not use LiPo's to ignite glow plugs.
Shorting out lipos sounds like a recipie for disaster.
Yep :D
Unfortunately, for no reason at all my steering servo decided to blow... (right after I took everything apart to clean, which is kind of a disaster on these cars) I've never had a Traxxas...
I vote Nitro Hoss for the next Traxxas vehicle, with a few twists. And here's why:
I'll start off with what it needs to have:
Either a larger engine than the 3.3, or a turbo/supercharged version,...
Nothing like a good thread revival.
In case you didn't see them in the other thread, here is the truck. I loved seeing all of the retro trucks - starting to make me miss trying to attatch the...
I suppose you could go 1/16 E-Revo, but I personally don't have any experience with it. All I know is the stampede is a pretty bulletproof truck, training mode will certainly be helpful for you....
Thanks a lot, Grizzly. I love this truck - it's so durable. But I slammed into a wooden fence at about 40 mph and took out both my steering rods and knuckles... Living the E-clip dream lol
It was certainly a lot of fun opening it up on tanks 6-10. It has wheelies on demand, but its tough to tune any engine for performance at 40 degrees. But for now its running great, I have a couple...
Lol so I solved the issue. I got her started, but on tank 4 and 3/4 I blew a glow plug. So I went to the LHS and got an O'Donnell 77 and that was a little bit shorter so I was able to get it started...

I am familiar with how to identify and fix a flooded engine... but I appreciate the insight. I may invest in an electric starter if struggles continue
A little update... Was able to get her going for the first 2 tanks of break in. It started after break 2 tanks, so I'll be back there again tomorrow, pulling with my left hand as my right is now...
Well thanks for the tip. I'll give her another try tomorrow and see if I can get her started, but it's been rather bleak for the last 2 days  never had issues like this before but I think...
As the title States, I'm having problems with too much compression on my brand new pullstart 3.3 engine. After trying for an hour to get it started the 24th, I took a break on the 25th, and I was...
Any idea what speeds you were hitting with that setup?
Not too much going on here, just a stock engine-less Nitro Sport
...
After finally working out the kinks of my old Pro .15 and its overheating issues (Exhaust leak), I decided I needed a power upgrade for the thing. So, a few months ago in the closing of nitro season,...
So, after over 10 years of use, my mounting plates for my pro .15 (got that stupid thing running again :D, all of its problems were being caused by a bad fuel tank spring and exhaust header) are...
Nah... We need the TRX 4.4 Engine! Maybe stick it in a 1/8 or 1/7 on-road chassis and try to sell the fastest ready to run nitro vehicle on the market!
Interesting, you would think they would put some sort of upgrade kit out for the V... That would be an interesting build, though.
