Wouldn't you want the fuse before the converter? The fuse is currently protecting the esc, which handles more current then the converter.
Could use conformal coating to gain back the waterproofness...
The rated amps of that esc's bec is 6, while the promodeler draws just over 6 at 7.4v. It would be best to get an external bec for it. Even at 6v, it draws 5.5, which is close to the esc's limit. It...
No, the sensors have a hard time keeping up with the rotor once it starts spinning fast, so you actually lose performance being in sensored only mode. I've read that in a couple places, but there was...
I'd still run a larger system. To me the vxl is maxed out on a stock slash or pede. The vxl esc isn't quite enough esc for 3s use. If you go caslte, skip the mamba x and go right for the mamba...
Caslte only had sensored for 4 years? Doesn't seem right. Or is it their X line of escs that are 4 years old? Cause I've got sensored motors that are a good 12 years old (not caslte brands). I do...
Yes there are separate profiles you can create and swap out. Don't think the program card allows for this (I don't use the card ever, so not sure), but the b link does.

Pic doesn't show for me, what is it?

Its a sensorless motor, so it wouldn't work so well. It will cog while going slow. You'd want a sensored setup for sure, unless you're going to turn it into a basher. Alot of folks on here either run...
Its like a whole new truck now. Looks nice

I have this same one. Its god awful slow. I would recommend a powerhd if you need a cheap one. My powerhd 23kg is faster and more powerful then then this one. I believe this is basically a ds3218...
I run hv 4s on a caslte mmx and on a toro ts150, both of which recognizes them as 4s. Once the caslte thought it was a 5s, I turned it on and off once and it was back at 4s. That was once out of...
If you can get the 272 firmware in that tekin esc, its the one you want to run. That specific firmware has crawler settings on it that you won't get out of most other escs. The 13.5 will be fine in a...
There was a thread about this about a year ago, with xmaxx's as the examples. It does make you wonder what is going on. Not sure on the percentage of inproper sticker placement or bad paint lines,...
They both are much larger motors, so I don't think the 2650 will run hot compared to the smaller 2400kv stock motor. I'd choose the 2650 unless down the road you may try higher voltage then a 4s. The...
I've seen somewhere you mentioned running 12v fans. Is that what the turbo fans are? Been looking for 12v fans that aren't cheap brittle computer fans.

I agree with the marine grease. I even repack my bearings with it. For your plastic driveshafts, you'll want to use a dry lube, like graphite powder or something like that.

Want to add to this by mentioning your tire foams. You don't want to get them wet and stay wet, as they will degrade. If they do get wet, take them out of the tires and let them dry. Its a good idea...

Watch this, mainly the last half. Hard for us old folks to type. I'm assuming the AS150s are like the XT150s, its why I said what I said.

Get rid of that jumper on the esc side, and plug in a positive of one battery to the negative of the other when you connect to the esc.

Yes. Larger lower kv motor and a 4s capable esc (1/8th scale power) is what you want.

I'd swap for the badlands. Not a big fan of trenchers myself. Seem good for a skate part, but not real off-road conditions. Do they make the badlands belted in the x maxx size? Although the added...
Just wanted to add on what others said, clean the grub screw and pinion before adding loctite. A quick spray of brake cleaner or motor cleaner will remove any oil residue and help the loctite bond...
I run mainly on grass and gravel, and wasn't impressed with the trenchers. Especially in wet grass, with some leaves like in the fall, they were like driving on ice. Then I bought the badlands, and...
Your reading is accurate, and you still can gain efficiency with the 3800kv, by gearing down quite a bit. 2s to 3s is a 50 percent increase in voltage, so on paper you'd need 50 percent drop in fdr....
Where are you storing your lipos before use? You do not want them below room temperature before use. Cold lipos will drastically cut your run times.
As for a new esc, personally I mostly use the c...
