It is called a JR connector, this means you can plug it straight into the receiver and use it with any ESC. There are fans made specifically for the Velineon VXL-3, Hot Racing makes one, these...
You should be able to use any ESC fan that attaches to your receiver quite easily.
WOW! This is looking amazing. I've raced a Bandit in the past, curiously I also went for a bug body :D
Mine was really great on grass tracks, but not great on carpet. I tried it on an astro track...
I'm surprised you are having issues with the planetary gears, I've been a Bandit owner since about 1996/97 shortly after its release. I've never had the diff gears fail and I've even raised a Bandit...
COOL! I really want to run this on a carpet track. The gearing looks easily modifiable to to cope with a stock 17.5T motor.
Totally different classes though and buggy racing is still more popular than short course in many places. Anyway, there's the fun too! I have more fun modifying cars that everyone tells me are not...
I've been driving a Bandit since 1998 and I've run it and even raced it for a long long time and it has been one of the toughest RC cars I've ever owned. When it comes to an issue like a pinion...
Perhaps that's the thing to do, fitting a smaller spur would allow you to fit much bigger pinions, it is about finding the options that will allow you to mesh both correctly with the pre-drilled...
IanRose is right, some of the Tamiya buggies are based on on-road designs but they aren't usually as capable as an offroader designed from scratch... But these aren't Traxxas products and the...
Cool, let us know how it goes.
The only two things I can see as being possible problems are the width and the gear ratios. Not all clubs will be happy with you racing a 200mm car against 190mm...
My ever evolving Traxxas Bandit :)

Makes sense to me to keep the price down, the parts it uses are very rugged! Chunky Slash 4x4 diffs, full ball raced, usual tough Traxxas plastic. I suspect most people will eventually set it up with...
If I were still racing stock 1/10 scale on-road I'd be ALL over the Ford GT right now trying to find the ins and outs of it all. Just what the Traxxas range has been missing, a great shaft drive 1/10...
I also don't understand why the steering is too quick, the Slash and other stadium trucks and buggies don't often have quick steering. The steering geometry has a tonne of caster built into it and...
If the steering is way too quick then any radio with expo may help. Have you got a TQi radio? I've never used one but it does have steering expo, read the manual and experiment with different values....
My first and only Traxxas was a kit :) The Bandit that I still drive today.
If the Slash were available as a kit without electronics I'd buy one in an instant! Sadly I don't really all the extras...
Not really, it depends what you want to do with the truck. Traxxas cars tend to be on the heavier side of things anyway. If you go for bigger wheels, 3S, metal parts, etc... Then you will end up with...
You have three things you want to achieve:
1) Flips when jumping
2) Optimum gearing
3) Grip rolling
Let’s start with 3, grip roll. The Slash has a high centre of gravity, it will roll at...
Totally personal of course. The best Traxxas truck is whichever does what you want it to do best.
For some that may be a Revo, for others a LaTrax...
*sigh* if that person bought a Lamborghini Gallardo they'd be very angry because it won't go through deep mud.
I'm interested to find out to even though I'm not usually one to run ball diffs... Too lazy to rebuild them I guess.
Those older bodies looked SO cool. I wish someone did reproductions or even better Traxxas itself re-released them.
True, I was sceptical when you told me Harry. But I'm glad I did, the bigger...
I found that the Bandit really benefits from balancing the wheels, specially the rear wheels. More so than my other buggy. So for the Bandit I usually balance the wheels with a little Blu-Tack.

LOL.... I won't even ask why... <_<
That's awesome :) I went from racing a Bandit to a 22 and like you I was surprised how close they are (I would imagine there's a similar closeness between the Rustler and the 22T).
When they are...
