I haven't had a chance to take Traxxas Support up on their offer of help yet, but I think I'll give them a call before work tomorrow.
I really want this to work as advertised. The fun potential is...
I'm pretty sure that article is wrong. Step 4 and 5 are the exact same thing in slightly different words:
If I'm not mistaken, there's a vital step of rebinding the Starting Line Console and the...
As far as I know, there is no need to do any firmware updates if you are going to use the DTS-1 system without the TQi / Traxxas Link / iPhone setup.
I'd like to thank Traxxas support for contacting me about the problems I've been having with the DTS-1. They've asked me to call in and run through some troubleshooting steps to make sure everything...
Let me say from the start that I have been racing / bashing / enjoying RC cars of all types for over 30 years. I've been building and racing real, full scale, tube chassis drag cars for over 20...
That is drag racing for you! Reaction time, consistency and a little bit of luck.
I really think that you need to be a drag racer at heart to really get the most out of these. It's not a typical...
Now that I have cooled off a bit, I might do a review. The other night though... after messing with it for two hours and not getting anywhere I was ready to smash it.
I believe the two motors are identical except for the color. The green ones are existing Castle branded inventory used while the Traxxas branded versions were being manufactured.
Any chance it was done with a larger pinion? That would allow the motor to slide away from the transmission case but keep the mesh intact.
Ha! yeah... Took a break for a bit, had a son. Now I'm back. :)
Thanks! Took a break for a while... did some RC rock crawling... took another break... and now I'm back with the Funny Cars!
Just when you think you're out, they pull you back in. :)
I did the same thing, except I hit MY OWN legs.
13 pound full SuperMaxx (any old schoolers here? :)) whipped my feet right out from under myself... and I'm no little person. The hit left a mark...
Hey... I was in the middle of replying to a post when it disappeared...
Regardless, what I was going to say was I was amazed at how much mass was near the front of the cars in the pictures. Oh...
Awwww yeah... LHS just called me to say come pick up my DTS-1 tomorrow!
Looks like the DTS-1 no longer says anything about WiFi anymore...
Ugh... so jealous. My LHS doesn't even show it at his distributor yet... :((
Wow! Sorry to drag up an old thread, but I just noticed folks were talking about this for seven years!
If anyone wants to see the videos, they're on YouTube now:

No, no physical slipper clutch. You can adjust the power output at the radio though. Low traction surface? Rotate the Multi-Funtion knob down for less torque. High traction surface? Crank the knob...
I'm not sure that would help. The front wheels are up in the air when mine goes off course...
I don't have any numbers to back it up, but mine seems so much better with about 3.5oz of weight in...
The Infinity was a prototype, so when the testing was done, I had to send it back to OTB.
Yes, I still have the truck! Unfortunately, due to a bit of a medical setback, I wasn't able to run it much this summer. However, it's all torn apart getting cleaned / udated for when the weather...
Wow! Was that ever a surprise to see the e-mail notification for this! It seems like forever ago. :D
As for how much the truck cost? I honestly don't know... I stopped keeping track when it got...
supersly_jones: Ha! I saw that coming... notice it says full scale... :D
ChromeDome: No... you got it all wrong! It's trick photography... sort of. See the T-Maxx and the S-10 don't ever actually...
Flash: I'm sorry but I am going to have to correct you on something:
Welding aluminum is an artform. Especially TIG welding aluminum.
Ha! Seriously, I have been welding since I was 7 or...
A stock T-Maxx transmission that is in good working shape won't move the spur gear when you push or pull the truck because of the clutches in the output gears.
A T-Maxx transmission with a forward...
