Only the newer EVX-2 has a built in LVD / LiPo mode. The ESC will
Say on it "LVD". If it doesn't, it's the older EVX-2.
Here's the ones I used to do my DeWalt mod.

Dead batteries in the Tx can make the truck do weird things sometimes.
If his ESC is the version with built in LVD, it may be on and is now in over voltage mode.
Are you using NiMH or LiPo batteries?
If you have some other batteries that are partially discharged,...
You have to get a set of 17mm hex adapters. There are a lot of brands to choose from and plenty of mods to make things mesh right. Traxxas adapters leave a good amount of play or "slop". HPI adapters...
I have a slightly different view on the wheels. My experience with stock wheels is that I found them thin and somewhat warped. My HPI Warlock wheels are much tougher and seem better suited for...
I tightened mine up pretty good by doing a mod to the Traxxas 17mm hex and HPI's cap nut. But of course this would require the use of 17mm wheels.
Here's a link to the thread I used to do it.

Maxxstang,
Are you running 14mm hex or 17mm hex adapters?
Yes you can run LiPo's using a plug in type LVA. Just make sure you use the BEC power side.
What version E Maxx do you have?
True 3906 and 3905 version have the older 27 MHz radio system that can be affected by interference.
The 2.4 ghz radio in the 3903 and 3908 are far less prone to...
That's a pretty good idea Mudermaxx!
I'd think you would need a 1/8 scale single axle in order for it to hold up to the large motor(s)
If you're ambitious, I'm sure a custom link set could be fabricated. Part of the problem would be...
That is awesome! Great find Trax!
I'm wondering if one of the ESC that can be programed to run both brushed and brushless would handle 5s or 6s? Problem is that those ESC are usually pricey.
The EVX-2 can only handle two 2s LiPo...
Some guys have reported that the steel CVD has a tendency to work it's way out of the supplied drive cups when bashing hard. So by replacing the shorter cups with the extended one you keep the drive...
Possible, but if bought new it shouldn't be the wrong pitch.
Stock E Maxx axle shafts for the 3903 or 3905 are these:

Or the whole assembly...
You will still have to do some cutting to hold the DeWalt but thats exactly what I did. I also got the single motor gear cover.
I took two small thin zip ties and ran them between the cooling fins and under the fan. I think I had to use four come to think of it. Small thin zip ties are not that long. So if need be, put two...
I have a Tenshock BL motor in my Hyper Short Course Truck and it's pretty fast. I think if you want long lasting reliable speeds then go BL.
In My E Maxx I have a 14.4 DeWalt. It's not a fast...
Do you know what the overall length and wheelbase of the new body is? If it's not too far off it might still look fine. If the length is too short you might have an issue with the front or rear...
Cooleocool speaks the truth. Use only paint made for lexan bodies. After it dries it stay flexible. Other paints will harden too much and when the body flexes the harden paints will chip and flake.
I also liked my PL Mashers, wish I had not ripped them try to move them from some broke wheels.
I really want to try the IMEX Swamp Dawgs but can't seem to find them anywhere.
Those Zombies look similar to my HPI Dirt Clawz

Yes you can get a single motor mount made for the 3908 BL edition and it will mount right up to your 3903/3905.
