    33% Top Fuel

What do you guys think about it? More Power? Better Performance? Can you switch from 20% to 33%?

i think its great since it gives the same lubrication but do you think it would work well on a sirio tx-18?

If 20% does why wouldn't it? I think Trinity has a limit of the amount of nitro in their engines. (I think)

Would the 33% nitro do any harm to a Pro .15 or a Picco .12? Sounds like a real blast...got to get teh T-Maxx rolling again...

i got 1 tank of 20% left and on friday im going to get some 33% at my lhs.
the thing ive seen is that the top fuel works better in a kyosho mad force engine than in my t-maxx. lol but the 33% seems interesting..

What my question is If you have ran 20% for like 3.5 gallons, and then switch to 33% will it harm the engine? The DVD says changing %'s will rob it of power and harm the engine. Will it cause damage??

I would be more concerned for those of us that have overheating issues with 20% - 33% would make it run that much hotter. I have considered dropping down to 10% to help cool mine off a little...

All the power in the world is worthless if you cannot run for more than a couple of minutes without overheating.

You may be right, but from everything I have read and experienced higher nitro means more power. More power is generated by more powerful (hotter) combustion - hence higher temps.

it cools more becuase of its chemical make up holds more heat so your exuast gass's are hotter but your engine is mostly the same if not cooler

I guess I need to look at the home page a little more carfully. I thought that traxxas only recommended 10 and 20% in the 2.5. Oh well I would like to see it run...I run 25+% now, wonder what kind of difference I would see.

I've always read hear that the oil content is what keeps the engine cool, not the nitro. Where did you get your info from ?

Also, can we just run our 2.5's with 33% and not have to worry about re-breaking it in? Will switching from 20% Top Fuel to 33% Top fuel be ok?

you do risk more wear on it but i know many people whos switch between fuels for differnt tracks to get different powercurves...the amount of perormance that your going to get isnt going to be god'ly either but its up to you...you are putting alot more stress on alot of parts that have probly already done there share

Well, considering that my 2.5 is almost dead, I'm going to go for it. I'll use the left over on my Sirio .18!

The reason you can sometimes get lower temps with a higher nitro % is because the higher nitro allows you to run the engine richer to get the same amount of power that you would get from the lower nitro%.

In other words if you put more fuel through the engin it should run somewhat cooler.

If 33% top fuel has 10% more nitro content then 30% fuels why didnt they call it 40% ? ? "With 10% more nitro than standard 30% racing fuels, Top Fuel 33% delivers even more power and acceleration from just about any nitro engine."

lbs5015, when dealing with percentages, you can't just add the whole numbers together lol. You have to use the decimals in their percentage form.

Let's take 30% Nitro Fuel. If the new Top Fuel has 10% more Nitro content, you multiply 30 (original nitro percentage) by .10 (percent more nitro) and get 3 (actual percentage more nitro). That is the extra 10% so you add it to the original percentage of 30 and get 33%.

40% nitro fuel is actually 30% more nitro than 30% nitro fuel.

    It's basic math...

Will the 33% work in a Sirio .18. I am always searching for ways to gain power.
