You're not looking at a performance gain with an aftermarket filter for the 2.5.

you dont think you would get more performance by using an airfilter that sticks out of the truck body a little bit so it can actually breath.have you ever noticed how clos the stock filter is to the body?

They have a couple of good airfilters for a Jato, even though they make not much of a different. You could get a Motorsaver, Dynamite Turbo Flow, or just use the stock one.

I've had very bad luck with the MS. Not just me, but many people. The center of the foam isn't supported so it collapses under a high RPM load, allowing dirt to blow by.

mugen filter is cheaper, foams are cheaper, and there in no chance the foams will suck in

yes you are going to have a difference in power because depending on witch filter you get you will have better air flow/ more air flow and more air=more power. lol funny how things work isnt it

For the 2.5, it's not a big air sucker, as big blocks would be. For a big block to have Traxxas's stock filter, that would be adsurd, because alot of air is being restricted. In that case, an aftermarket filter would provide air, providing more power, because the big block is getting the air it should be getting. The 2.5 gets plenty of air as it is, you you're not looking at a performance gain, if any.

Hmm, maybe the slightly increased air flow leaned the mixture out?

i've used motor saver and os super 203 airfilter and they're both really good performers. i liked them both.. and actually my friend bought aftermarket airfilters to match my 2.5 power. another reason i used them is because i can use two stage filters.
