    t vs s maxx

ok i am alittle newto this stuff and got some questions. first off i kinda was pushed toget a s maxx because thats what my friend has and i like it. his has 4wd but the new ones dont have it so then i was leaning tward the tmaxx for 4wd. but then my friend said his s maxx will smoke other tmaxxs. but in my research there is no difference between the two. ecept the tires. so is there any difference form a smxx with 4wd and a regular t maxx???????

    thx for any insight

No, there is no difference between the two. A S-Maxx with 4wd is now a T-maxx. If he bought his S-maxx from the factory with 4wd that makes me think it is a T-maxx.

All in all there is no difference between the two if they are both 4wd.

Buy a T-Maxx and you'll get reverse and 4WD (both of which are useful)

He won't smoke a T-Maxx though as they are the same engine and gearing.

Although, doesn't the S-Maxx have one forward gear only where as the T-Maxx has two?

the difference is that the smaxx has sporttraxx tires (lighter-faster), and a constant drive engagment tranny and it has a cooler looking body. I would still say get a tmaxx but u really can't go wrong with anything in the maxx family.

how is the smaxx lighter? is it smaller or built different? they look smaller to me but the specs say they are exactly the same size as a t maxx.

he was refering to the tire, which are lighter(248 grams mounted on sporttrax tires with the oem foams)

however, the s-maxx is also lighter than the t-maxx. it doesn't have all the extra junk for reverse, the front diff/drivesafts, and has the lighter sporttrax tires.
