New T-Maxx 3.3 on the way

Well I tried to resist, but I was weak. My Visa card snuck outta my wallet and placed an order on Towerhobbies.com. My new T-Maxx should be here Wednesday, March 1st.

I already have two T-Maxx 2.5's in my collection, but the new T-Maxx just looked too awsome to pass up.

I did the exact same thing. I got a black one.

Quick question: What all does it come with?

You should get a TQ-3 radio, body, antenna tube, body clips.

What you will need is 8 AA batteries for the radio, a NIMH Reciever Pack battery for the truck, a power charger, a 6 cell, 7.2 volt battery for the EZ Start and fuel.

I picked up some more rechargeable AA batteries, 1500 hump pack, charger, a new 6 cell for the ez start, and 20% top fuel. I forgot to get a temperature gauge. Are you gonna use the heat cycle to break it in, or the traditional break in method?

I am going to stick with the traxxas break-in procedure. It is the way that traxxas says to break it in, so i'm following it, I dont want to take any chances with my new moter.

If Traxxas didnt think it was a good break in they would not have recommended it! I think everyone knows Traxxas sets the standard for engines and vehicles.

Stick with the Traxxas breakin procedure. I have used it in almost 10 different Traxxas engines and I have not had any real tuning issues whatsoever. That article linked to earlier specifically mentions OS engines for that procedure due to how rich they are from the factory. I once broke in an OS .21 and know just how rich they are. The Traxxas procedure works for Traxxas engines.
Look out buggies....Revo 3.3 coming through!

The Traxxas break-in procedure is a form of heat-cycling. It's also very easy to perform for the novice.

So what exactly is the traxxas break-in procedure?

Or will I receive a guide with my truck?

They actually give you a dvd with the breakin procedures.

    Basically 6 tanks

Tank 1 - Body off, 1/4 throttle, 2 second count, then brake. When tank is empty let engine cooldown for 15 minutes.

Tank 2 - Body on, 1/2 throttle, 2 second count, then brake. When tank is empty let engine cooldown for 15 minutes.

Tank 3 - Body on, 1/2 throttle, 3 second count, then brake. No cooldown.

Tank 4 - Body on, Full throttle, 3 second count, then brake. Do not allow to shift into second gear. No cooldown.

Tank 5 - Body on, Full throttle, 3 second count, then hold for 2 seconds, allow shifting into second gear, then brake. No cooldown.

Tank 6 - STOP! Clean your airfilter and use this tank to fine tune.

These instructions come from the 3.3 T-Maxx Manual, page 28.

Well, I got home tonite and opened up my new 3.3 T-maxx. The grey plastics are production parts. I believe its an improved plastic compound that is supposed to be more durable. The shocks and springs need an upgrade. First impressions are that I will want to strip one of my other 2.5 T-Maxxes for upgrades.

    Motor Saver Airfilter
    Receiver Pack
    Spektrum receiver
    50wt. shock oil
    FullforceRC dual-rated shock springs
    RPM A-arms, skidplates, bulkhead braces
    Tuned pipe??
