Body is larger than stock buy a few inches but with some custom mounts I got it to fit.

Proline Baja Bug body for crawlers on the right. Fits the front narrow MJ body mounts and standard rear body mounts although it's kind of a tight fit on the rear.
Proline Bulldog body on the left. Using proline body mounts, it's a perfect fit.

Not too happy with the Bulldog durability. I had two cracks within the first 5 minutes of light-duty bashing:

This may be crazy, but my son and I have the Monster Mutt body (with tongue and floppy ears, Awesom...) but being that we drive mostly in our parking lot, its got some pretty serious road rash. we were thinking about getting a a new body and had this crazy idea to maybe put something like a Slash/Slayer body on it. Are we nuts, is it possible with mods? just wondering your opinions. Thanks.

This is an old Stampede I have fitted with a Tamiya Subaru Brat body.
Running Castle 4600 Kv motor and a cheap HK esc. Works like a charm.

Just an observation after just transitioning from RC EDF Jets to RC Trucks (Stampede VXL 4x4) which I use for "lure coursing" for my Dutch Shepherd.

*** is the deal with lexan 0.06 body prices? 25 dollars...are we smoking crack here? I am a chemical engineer by training and thats about 40 cents of lexan injected into a sub 10K mold...Why has Proline/Jconcepts and Traxxas have us held hostage?

More money for a painted Proline body than a 4S SPC 5000 LIPO?

This is absolutely thievery in the first degree when they claim Traxxas parts are inexpensive but its 25 dollars for one ounce of lexan injection molded. I have a good friend that owns a plastics company and will look into how much for a 0.10 Lexan body mold and flood the zone with 15 dollar painted bodies, prototyped in the US and mfg in China.

Bad enough they stick you with a NiMH POS battery when you pay near 400 for a Pede 4x4 VXL...but 25 for a clear body and 71 for a painted Proline.

INSANE.

I'm not an engineer, but pretty sure those bodies are ther****rmed, which is even cheaper than injection molding!

Bodies are Expensive sigh, but if you get a body I would get a Pro-Line Body which are around 25 dollars.

i've read ppl say it is but can it be given the difference is large in length?

Here is a quick question. I have the skully that is built on the stampede platform. If I change the body mounts with the standard stampede mount will I be able to use the truck bodies that are available

Yes, but the skully has adjustable mounts so its fairly versital, ive used a bulldog slash body and a tamiya 1/12 scale van. As long as the wheel base is similer youll be fine
