    turned out to be a nasty thread sorry

    well that last one was interesting it seems people are very one sided about steel vs. stock gears thanks again for the help but the question got lost in the excitement how about the air filter issiue does any one have the same problem with it rubbing the spur and is there a fix again im running a 16 tooth cb and a 72 tooth spur can any one help?
    im going to have to get another job to pay for this toy

    stock filter the truck was a .15 but i put the 2.5 into it the spur is rubbing the neck of the filter of the filter and grinding a hole into it
    im going to have to get another job to pay for this toy

    I run the ms filter adapter.puts the filter out over the tranny no rubbing!here ya go.you will use the longer of the 3 included works great for me!

    try replacing it with the ofna 1/8 buggy filter it works great thats what I'm using on both my maxxes btw the pro .15 filter should not be rubbing I think did you try putting it at different angles of installation

    well its not a pro .15 any more its a 2.5 with the stock 2.5 filter and neck ill have to try some thing thanks how about a good pipe what should i use i have the 2.5 and a 3.3 id like to get the most out of both haww much differance does it really make ?
    im going to have to get another job to pay for this toy

    my spur used to rub the air filter,couldn't figure it out for a long time,I later found out that the chassy was bent,after I replaced it,it was fine..

    I just got a different filter neck. OFNA made it. I used part # 10025 gives me great clearance. Here's a link http://www.ofna.com/airFilters2.html

    the spur rubbed on my brothers t-maxx so i moved it and he hadnt had any problems yet with it.

    Are the motor mounts the same for a .15 & a 2.5..??
    If their different & your useing a .15 on a 2.5 could be a smidge shorter..??
    I dunno just chuckin stuff out there..lol

    they are the same mount.

    have you tried turning the airfilter to the side 3OUTLAW?

    I had this problem for a while as well, I then turned it untill the bell of the airfilter was actually resting on the throttle bellcrank, I did this with my brand new airfilter that came with my 3.3 and I have not noticed any rubbing whatsoever. Good luck, Menace.
