Pretty cool! I am ready to set mine up. It looks like a lot of fun. Do you get water inside the tires?

If you hit a huge puddle like that at wot does it hydro plane at all? From what you have seen would it be possible to skip any water with a maxx?

awesome pics shorty. I have made some progress on my mudmaxx. I have made a plastic wall on the front of the chassis plate which will keep most of the flinging mud and water out of the chassis area. Next i am going to make a wall for the rear and then do any other mud proofing ideas i can think of. LOL. ill be posting a thread here soon on the truck.
BTW what tires are u running? looks like the talons. How r they wroking as far as traction? nice

cool pics, looks like you had a ball....you might want to clean and re-lube your axle bearings pretty often to stop them seizing up. even if their rubber sealed, dirt and water is going to easily get in. just a heads up.

It looks like you need a set of paddle tires. Then you could skip across the water. Nice pics I hope well be seeing more.

    cheers guys

f7grt - it does very slightly hydro plane, but when hitting the water at speed it pulls u all over the place (seen on second run in vid)

rc mechanic - i normally run stock 2.5 chevrons but that weekend i didnt expect rain so took the talons from a 3.3, i did get stuck a few times in the deeper water/mud puddles

When I drive through water, the engine steams a lot. Is this bad? Should I try keeping the water away from the engine?

I thought it would be cool this summer when I was camping to run my Rustler thru a puddle thinking that it's electric what could really happen to it. Well now I have a balloon on the receiver cuz I fried it. I learned my lesson quick. LOL. But, now I am thinking about waterproofing my T-Maxx

You could crack the cranckcase, I think. I heard someone say it once, so now it scares me everytime I clean my quad after riding.

Let me guess u got the bandit out of the pond and set it on the ground and it drove fine. LOL. That woud be funny.

Dougerty- yes u can crack the crankcase if its hot and it gets exposed to metal. Im not an expert on this but i think it has something to do with aluminum expanding as it gets hotter. THen u put water on it and it rapidly cools which forces the aluminum case to go back to regualr size very quickly.

If i were u let the quad cool down a bit b4 u clean it with water.

Yeah, you can crack the "block" of any engine if it's hot and exposed to water, even a 1:1. Almost did it with my 7.5L in my truck.

I don't think any R/C can be totally waterproof. Bearings will eventually fail. Screws and drive yokes rust out. Water can hide in many places. I ruined a 2.5 and a lot of other parts when mud bogging my Maxx a couple years ago.

It was still fun though. I'd probably do it again someday.

Those are some killer pics you posted.
