17/38 is too small, gotta get a bigger CB. The one that Rodney linked to should do just fine.

get the robinson racing the traxxas 20 cb will not work because the motor mount will hit the tranny.

i tried that revo gearing and did not like it, it took too long to recover from the 1/2 shift and needed a much bigger parking lot, as far as revo gearing, the best combo i found was 19cb. 40 spur, it worked much better.

yes as long as I use a wheelie bar that allows for more front travel, I have a home made custom wheelie bat with 1 tire and wheel in the center that bolts to the chassis and it only allows the front tires to come3 inches off the ground, with a stock or New Era wheelie bar even with the truck lowered the most it would go, it would still come up too high and flipover if you did not lift off the throttle and apply the brakes very quickly.

plus the pitch is diff. the TRAXXAS 20T is for the JATO which is .08(i think) and the revo is 1.0 so those 2 wont mesh properly

the 20t traxxas clutch bell will NOT work...it is a 0.8 pitch gear designed for use with the jato...revo gears are 1.0 pitch, and the only cb's traxxas makes for the revo are the following sizes...14t, 15t, 16t, and 17t...the robinson 20t cb is the one you need, it has a gear pitch of 1.0...

yes the spur gear you want to use is a traxxas 38t for the revo...you just have to make sure you get the robinson 20t cb to get the gears to mesh corectly...

How does this effect the shifting from 1st to 2nd gear? Is there any thing else i would need to know? What are the pro's and con's? Because im seriously thinking of getting this set-up. Thank's for all the help and info.

I am getting this setup for my Jato it sounds like you can get a crazy speed bonus. if it does affect shifting you can always adjust it

40/20 was the best combo for me,(for top end) but i have alot of other mods that make it accelerate faster than most....the MIP diff is a big thing and running a tight slipper is also a must, but you can't really get away with that without running foams.

    as far as the combos...

it doesn't effect shifting at all...i never changed my shift points.

    I ran...
    38/20, 40/20, & 40/19

how is 40/20 faster than 38/20? 38 spur seems like less ration. Also do the MIP diffs make a difference in speed if not what difference do they make? Does a loose slipper take some top end?

    Thanks

38/20 seemed to engine bog on occasion due to the lack of rotational mass on the spur....you wouldn't think it would matter...the size of a tooth or 2 but it does.

the mip diff puts all the power straight to the ground ..just a mod i like to use....a loose slipper will definately take top speed away.
