Denatured is perfect... some people use simple green but simple green has water in it.. denatured does not.. therefore less to worry about if you accidently soak your electronics.

I was looking at some of our cleaning supplies not too long ago and found some Windex Multi-Task that said it "cuts grease." So I thought I'd try it... It seems to work pretty well for me. Gets the nitro goop taken care of pretty well and all... I bought one of those spray bottles so I could spray a fine spray for when I want to blast the gunk out of... say... the glow plug area. Seems to work quite well so far, but I haven't used it a whole lot yet...

I soak in denatured... clean excess mud, goop, dirt with a paintbrush or toothbrush for smaller areas... maybe spray again depending on if it dried off... and then spray with air.

I normally take the engine and top plate out (so there are not servos etc. on the chassis) then blast the chassis with a pressure hose, after that, i use petrol to clean the electronics and engine which evapourates before it can cause any damage. It always comes up like brand new.

Do you just spray over the whole thing? Or do you disassemble first?

SPRAY ALL OVER LET DRY THEN DO MY ARP. THE ONLY AREA I TRY NOT TO SOAK DOWN IS THE EZ START MOTOR ( CAN SHORT THE MOTOR OUT) BUT AS LONG AS ITS HAD TIME TO DRY SHOULD BE NO PROBLEMS.
