Good news. No lipo explosion! The 5s Neu energy took a 56 minute charge without any warmth, puffing or fire!

More good news. A set of UE cvds were shipped Friday. It looks like I will finally get my RacerX arms on!

Ouch, How did you break that?

Good luck driving it as a front wheel drive - lots of tire spin!

I finaly got some wrench time to put on the UE RacerX arms. I found a bent hinge pin and the upper arm will need spacers to fit the FLM hibrid bulk.

I just scored a UE monoblock and a front HardCore Racing 3mm titanium skid plate...

I am just trying to decide on my pins. I am figuring out how to secure the ejector pins in the flm bulks

I finaly got some wrench time for my upgrades. RacerX arms and knuckles, 6mm UE cvds and a 3mm HCR titanium skid plate.

I am amazed at how light the arms feel. They feel like plastic. The UE cvds and skid plate are beefy and should hold up well to my beating.

The right cvd is not on because the drive cup is catching on a little burr that I have to smooth off tommorow.

Mark, I thought I'd prime the pump by posting up. Surely that little burr hasn't keep you from this the whole time.

LOL But really I have an idea how busy you are with work and family. How's your wifes broken ankle? Has your daughter graduated highschool yet? Being in New Orleans like you are have you seen the oil wash up from the oil spill? Is it bad? I've moved to northern Alabama since you fell off the forums. Great to know you're still alive even if you don't keep a regular check on the forums.

I am back! After a year hiatus the build continues. I got my stub axles in today. One of them had a little burr and I used a dremel polishing pad to take it off. Here are is the rear with a monoblock extension, Strobe brace, and RacerX setback arms. Next the front....

Finally finished the rear. It now has a monoblock extension, UE RacerX setback arms, UE cvds, UE knuckles and a 3mm titanium skid plate. The wheel base from axle to axle is now 41.5 cm about 5.5 cm longer.

1/8 truggy shells will fit alright, so will the 3905/08 shell if you dont mind it being a tiny bit short. Otherwise, kershawdesigns.com has some options for larger shells.

Glad to hear its alive and running again, we must keep these old trucks going to show the young'uns how to do things in style

All good thing comes to those that wait. Finally a titanium front skid. I know it is only 2 mm but I have never been able to find a 3 mm one....

and both front and rear Ti skids:

Bet that took some finding- I don't understand why so few places do these nice parts these days, especially with the 3908 becoming so popular. Looking good (still), might just wanna look at that servo saver- Kimbrough do some nice beefy ones which will be much less sloppy/feeble.

I forgot how fun this truck can be! Old tire glue + 5 mins on newly charged 5s NeuEnergy batteries = unglued tires. Oh and an almost completely aluminum truck with a UE monoblock extension and UE RacerX setback arms still flips.

Ok so I have been away for about a year. I need a stronger steering servo, a wheelie bar and a body that will fit. Any suggestions?

    Hey All,

I haven't been on in years. I gave my truck to my nephew and he recently returned it. I am thinking about getting rid of it. I know there have been a lot of changes and new models released that may have made my build obsolete. At the time it was built with a lot of unique parts that are now probably hard to get. Just musing out loud....
