Just put the Force .28 carb on my moddd 3.3

Hey guys, I saw the tread where some were putting the .26 and .28 force carb on the 3.3's and I decided to try it out. I ordered the .28 by mistake but got tips from over revo on how to make it work. I fired it up tonight and it rips. The only adjustment I made was on the idle screw. The low speed idle screw was perfect as per the pinch test. Will let you all know how she does tomorrow. My jato topped out at 67-68mph prior to the mod. Will let you know the new numbers tomorrow. I also ordered the .26 carb just to see the difference. It will be here on thursday.

    My mods:
    Traxxas CVD's
    Motor Saver air filter
    Integy 53t spur gear
    foams tires
    alluminum suspension arms
    Fuel filter
    orion 5-cell pack
    specktrum 3.0 radio/servo's
    locked rear diff
    roto start
    bunch of other minor mods

Nice, all i keep hearing are good things about this mod.

I'm still waiting to do this. My lhs guy knows a bunch of guys who race 1/8th scale buggys, trying to get me one second hand so I don't have to order a new one... the wait continues....

The ofna foams on towerhobbies.com They are 1/8. You will need an adapter kit to make them fit. I got mine from neweramodels.com. Make sure you get traction compound too. I use Paragon FxII. its on towerhobbies also. I can get you links to this stuff if you need them.

N3.3d for Sp33d.....Oh I have some pics up with the foams on one of my old posts. I think the post is called check out my jato. Foams work pretty good as long as you are on smooth asphault and the foams are properly treated.

Okay, I just tried my jato out. It runs great. Lots of low end torque. I ran it for an hour without it shutting off once. The only problem I had was the carb leaking air around where it goes into the motor. I used rtv sealant, but I guess I did not let it sit long enough. My .26 carb will be here in the morning so I think I will just use that one since it does not need any modifications. But for those of you who want the .28, just be careful when you grind it down to make it fit the 3.3 motor. I did get some god numbers on my radar gun. Average speed was around 68-69 mph. When I leaned it out a bit I got it up to 71mph at 248 degrees using 30% odonnels.

Good to know its working for you

Yeah you may waited not long enought to let the sealent do its job, mine dont leak.

Thats some great speed!, the foam should help a little too.
I bet with my engine mods you could get 75mph easy.

I was getting the same speed as my friend before all my mods, he got 64mph stock. Im now overreving at 71mph on 20% at barely 200F

I will test the new gears this weekend and may be try 30%

    Another successful 3.3 carb. mod!

Just a heads up on the OFNA foams, I ordered them months ago and they have been on back order ever since. My lhs guy talked to them and they are out of stock at the moment. I believe they're supposed to have some in here shortly, but they've been pushing the date back for atleast a month now.
