    Latest Mod's for GF's Maxx

Heres some of the latest purchases for my girlfriends Maxx.

Traxxas 7075T6 4mm Race Chassis (I bought this from George16)
    Traxxas DCResonator with Stock header
Dace 7075T6 Nickle Plated Aluminium Motor Mount.

I have polished the chassis with Wet/Dry sandpaper up to 1200 grit, I think it still needs work so going to get some 1600 and 2000 grit then use some aluminium polish on it to make it like this!

I've also ordered a full 3.3 Spec Driveline upgrade. Just waiting on there arrival.

Looking good there Jonny!! You can also try some aluminum wheel polish in tryin gto get that nice bling shine . If you have a rotary tool like a dremel, you can shine that bad boy in no time at all. Keep in mind though that it's aluminum so a lot of heat can be generated while polishing it with a rotary tool.

Rusty bought the chassis from me. I used oven cleaner in a yellow spray can and then wet sand it a bit. I was going to polish it with an aluminum wheel polish using my dremel but I never get around to it so I sold it .

Where in MI are you from? I'm from Troy, just outside Detroit.

Smart man getting the G/F involved with your hobby avoiding the nagging sessions of "So when are WE going to get time together" and "You spend more time with your Truck than me" lolll

That's exactly why I got my wife and kids involved.

    hey george16,
I'm up in east tawas. use to be in highland(by milford).I usually drive my truck up on the old wurtsmith air force base-- tons of open space and some good bash spots.
I think I'll try that oven cleaner on my chassis to help set it apart from my co workers' trucks

Been doing a bit of work on it.

Put the front and rear end on it to work out were I can put everything. Also started working out my options for direct pull throttle and started making the linkages.

I'm waiting for 3.3 Knuckles, Shafts and Turnbuckles to arrive. A full set of Purple RPM arms and bulkhead braces and I'm going to order a tank like the one on it but new as thats my Supermaxx tank and I'm also gonna get some Ofna Ultra Front shocks for it.

I've also ordered the Crazy Nut brake kit and UE brake hex to go along with UE centers.

I still need to get me a 3.3 or similar engine, 3mm diff cup (I already have a 3mm ring gear), Aluminum braces and the newer 4 screw style diff cases.

Looking good Jonny. Did you have to drill a new set of holes for the fuel tank or did the holes I drilled line up?

The ones you had lined up just fine I need to shim the posts abit though as the tank will be pushing hard into the chassis otherwise.

You're right. There should be the hard plastic spacers between the aluminum posts and the chassis.

    Fuel tank posts and spacers.

Or you can just cut some hard plastic or rubber gasket and drill a 3.2mm hole for the screw to go through .

Nice work. I'm also thinking about upgrading my stock chassis to a stronger, lighter one, but I'm just wondering which one I should get.

I'm biased on the Dace Predator and Trx racing chassis. However, I was able to create a replica of the Trx racing chassis on a stock 4mm 6061 chassis using my dremel. I even drilled holes so I was able to have the same layout as my Dace chassis.

    3.3 with Dace chassis:

2.5R with modified 4mm stock chassis:

    Direct pull throttle setup:

There are so many decent chassis out there its hard to advise you. Are you after big block or small block? Extended wheel base or not?

Got the all the stuff installed! I also received some RPM shock towers but I ended up ordering 2 sets of skids! Because I bought from 2 different people I thought I had asked one for arms and bulkhead braces and the other for skids and towers, turns out I asked for Arms and Skids and Towers and skids lol!

Just to say thanks to DickyT for the arms and skids, great seller, very honest and great communication and also thanks to billytrucks on e-bay. Billytrucks is one of the best EBay sellers as he doesn't act like a robot that other big RC sellers do such as rcwaffle.

I'm gonna get this stuff linked below as well

I can't wait to get this one up and running! It will be interesting to see how it compares to my Big Block as the Big Block maxx is definately heavier with CVD's and all aluminum!

What do you think will win in a straight up drag?
3.3 with the Resonator and Lightweight drives
    or
.26 Big Block Supermaxx all Aluminum with Heavy Steel drives.

    Rusty Noob,

This may sound like a newbie question, but are those RPM arms plastic? If not, then the finish looks matte and plastic-like.

Also, how did you figure out the Toe & Camber? Do you have some kinda alignment tool?

The arms are plastic, this T-Maxx is a "cheap" one for my GF to use so she can come bash with me. I do all my alignments just by sight, I havent done this one yet as I dont have the turnbuckles.

    Hope that helps!

Cheap, eh?! I notice that you have that word in quotation marks...
All of that pink and purple! Do you think you'll be able to see the fuel through that pink fuel line? Dare I ask what body she will be running?

I say "cheap" because its costing less than half of what my Maxx did lol. Probably wont be able to see the fuel through it but I'm used to it as I use some Royal Blue fuel line which is completely opaque, Never had probelms and if I do I just replace the fuel line, I bought the blue on a 50ft spool hehe.

UE Dogbones of course I really hope she won't outrun me! If she does I'll just sell up the Sportwerks .26 and go with the RB 728 :P

Dual brakes arent 100% nescassary but I'm gonna slowly build that tranny into an OTB/Super6 combo then transfer it to my Supermaxx which will bombproof the driveline.
