    2.5 is dun for...

Well I have officially wore out the 2.5 motor.. 1 1/2 gallons and 2 or 3 years isn't bad. I don't think.. But I want to buy a new motor in instead of rebuilding the old one... What motors are direct replacements.. like would a 3.3 fit.. or a .21 or 18.. let me know

1 1/2 gallons? That's all you got from it. 3.3 is a direct fit.

the 2.5, 2.5r, 3.3, os 18tm, I think the os .21tm is a drop in part but I am not shure, you can modify the os 18tz to fit all you need is a crankshaft and afew othr things. There are probilly more that will fit but I am not shure.

I have around 9 1/2 gallons on mine. Three years of racing and it's still running like the day I bought it.

I'm running slightly lean though, so I wouldn't doubt that the engine is going to die in the next few gallons. I'm just being optimistic though.

Either get a 3.3 or a 18TM from eBay. You'll need the T-Maxx 18TM though and a HPI RS4 header (I think it's the RS4 2, but I'm not positive). I picked up an 18TM for about $110 off eBay a while back, haven't put it in anything but I wanted to grab one before they were gone.

WoW! 9 1/2 gallons thats a lot of good time's,i didn't know how long they could last with regular use (like every other day a couple few runs).
Looks like you have ran the most fuel for the longest time so far.

9 - 10 gallons is quite easy to reach if you look after your engines.

my first trx2.5 seen 35-40Litres (about 10gal) before i sold it on to a mate real cheap and its still kicking on despite him treating his RC's pretty bad (poor tune, lots of stacks + crashing, no ARO etc)

anything less than 5Gal is a premature death imo.
Im no expert. i just play one on the TRX forums

Sure, your engine will last three more tanks then die a horrible death.

Seriously - nobody can tell you how long your engine will last. Engine life is dependent on tuning and usage. Some engines blow up after two quarts from abuse, and others will last over 10 gallons with proper care and careful tuning.

I've had them last well over 10 gallons. It is pretty easy to do. You need to be meticulous about air filter maintenance, always tune from rich to lean, and as an extra step I pre-heat the engines with a hair dryer to over 160F to try and eliminate any "cold start" wear. (when there was an outlet available)

oh you were joking! my engines compression is somewhat hard to turn when an engine is just like 1 more gal. till its death what does compression feel like?
