Hi everyone, community newbie here. Have had a TMaxx for a while, recently purchased a Rustler. Put on some more asphalt friendly tires, but still a stock rig for now.

Mailman just showed up and my eBay purchase was included. What do you think? Going to try something. These are Traxxas #3668; 2.8" wheels w/Talon tires. A tad bigger so the top end will be a bit faster, launch a little lazier which is good for low-traction spots along with the added width, and I can always re-gear if I want.

I just finsihed the body. I plan to go back and add some dark orange for some spots for rust/primer show-through to help that places that i've either scrathed through the paint layers to get the tape off and fix areas that I goof on the taping. I'm going to make it more of a madmax beat up look.
I was hoping to get some traxxas stickers for the body but they're too much. No Freebies for advertising I guess. The HPI body took some work to trim up but not much. mostly just around the wheel to make room for bottoming out. I am planning to try it again with teh same body but use the rear body mount from the stampede and mount it to the shock towers which will get me more rear height and thusly keep me from having to cut out the window like i did (ugh). I didn't think of it until I was up at HobbyTown in Concord and one of the pointed out that both have the same shock tower. Great folks. and I still to get a new set of springs for the rear and a 7cell...mwahhhh and yeah
I am using an off set for the front so I could use a 2.2 wheel set, the Pro-Line Dirt Paw 2.2" Truck Tires I got from amainhobby.

My very first R/C.
Bought in 2004, not running today because of broken 2015 bec receiver, just ordered a new one. Stock, 3900 Orion Rocket NiMh
The controller tire thing; i was bored and took an extra front tire and stuck it on there instead of the foam one.
Result; better traction with my fingers increasing turn speed![]()

Here are my two Rustlers:
FrankenRustler - HBX Max Buggy Body and wheels, Bandit chassis with Rustler front end parts and Trinity P2K2 Pro brushed motor.
I don't like the "rainbow" body from the XL-1 Rustlers, but I couldn't strip the old paint off so I just painted the outer shell with Fusion and used leftover decals from other projects along with stripped/dyed wheels. (Yes, I know it won't last, but it will do for now.) Currently waiting for a cheapo EZRun brushless combo.
