Getting some new wheels and tires today, 1 set on road and one set off... plus a couple of paddles

Mods to date...
STRC caster blocks, knuckles and carriers
Traxxas aluminum turnbuckles and steering bellcrank
Aluminum shock tops, bearings....
MM 5700 combo
Some tenergy 3800s 7-8 cells
Some homemade skidplates and uh... broken junk

I wanted to racemyself, but I didnt have anyone to drive my mustang

I posted these on a thread in this forum. But I'll put them here too so it's in the gallery. I meant to but forgot.

I like the Slash skid plate idea. And the zip tie to hold a fan to the motor. I never thought of that!

New to the group here ...

I picked up a Rustler XL-5 today. I used to own a Traxxas in 2000 but sold it due to inactivity. This last week my BIL & his 2 boys got into the hobby so I thought I'd join in on the fun.

Here's my Father's Day gift. It's stock right out of the box. It's taking a bit getting used to RTR. Back in 2000 when I bought my Traxxas it was in a kit.

Well I got tired of the front bumper taking a beating. I have already replaced a set of arms, and a frame stiffner, steering blocks, ect......
I made the bumper out of a peice of aluminum sheet I had laying around the shop. Here's a pic before the final trimming & smoothing the edges.
