Still thinking of names. This a regular stampede size body on an 1/8th scale chassis.
Yeah, it's kind of a basher...it was prettier at one time!
The family Traxxas cars.
All 2wd and all started out as a XL-5 brushed version. But now are upgraded to brushless. NiHM batteries are upgraded to 2S LiPo batteries. And all are contantly getting upgrades / hop-ups (mainly Traxxas TRX, RPM and T-Bone parts) to make them more bash proof.
From left to right you see:
Traxxas Rustler, this my oldest son Tom RC car.
Traxxas Stampede (Green one), this is mine, originaly started out as a spare Grave Digger and I converted it into a Stampede.
Traxxas Stampede (Pink one), this is my wives RC car. Originaly started out as a spare Son uva Digger and I converted it into a Stampede.
Traxxas Grave Digger, this is my middlest son Daan RC car.
Traxxas Bigfoot, this is my youngest son Nick RC car. It is a Son uva Digger, but this day he used his spare body which is a Traxxas Bigfoot body.

This is the Traxxas Stampede of myself.
Bought originaly as a spare second hand Traxxas Grave Digger 2WD XL-5 version that came RTR with a 27MHz transmitter. Somewhere early in 2017 I came across a trade for this Traxxas Grave Digger. I bought it mainly as a spare for the body and the green parts and wheels for the Traxxas Grave Digger of my son Daan. Then used the leftovers to build myself a Stampede.
Latest specs (not all shown on the photos yet):
Body: Traxxas Stampede 4x4 body. Painted in Tamiya PS20 green. Extra strength is added to the body by using Ride aluminium body repair tape.
TRX and ESC: Flysky GT3C set.
Engine: Castle Sidewinder 3 3800KV ESC/brushless motor set and the engine wires are green mesh sleeved.
Battery: 2S 5000MAh.
Servo: PowerHD LW-20MG (20kg and waterproof).
Wheels & tyres: Wheels are Desperados from Proline with Proline Trencher tyres.
Shocks: standard Traxxas Ultra shocks and green springs (will be updated to white 4957R springs), upgraded with thicker oil, green Traxxas aluminum shock caps, homemade bumpstop, Traxxas titanium nitride coated shock shafts and a set of black RPM shock shaft guards.
Other upgrades:
- All bushes are changed for bearings.
- RPM Slash front bumper with RPM slash light pod kit.
- T-Bone servo guard.
- Traxxas black wheeliebar, RPM wheelie bar mount and Traxxas TRX red alumunium wheelie bar wheels.
- 2 RPM black engine protector, 1 left, 1 right. They are also the mounts for the RPM Slash rear light kit.
- LED kit.
- RPM black front and rear bearing carriers.
- Traxxas green TRX aluminium caster blocks.

Mostly stock pede with 2018 snow set up.
![]()
Left to right:
My Daughters- mostly stock from the '90s Pede. Mods: peg style slipper, TRX carriers with big bearings, RPM Gear cover, LRP ESC and, replacement "102" servo. Body is an Axial I found on E-Bay. It still has the stock tires no less. It will be my shelf queen at some point. It's that nice. VIN# A0181648. Yup, still has the sticker.
My Son's- Built from spares I had. Upgrades: RPM-front bumper, caster blocks, front axle carriers. TRX alum. rear carriers and Slash links. Stock trans case with Losi motor plate. (Truck and trans where built before the RPM case came out) It is running a XL-5 with a 27t.
Mine- It started out in the 90's as a brand new Stampede and has gone though a lot of changes in that time. It serves as my R&D truck. Anything I want to try goes on this truck first. If it works, then the others get those part at some point. There are to many mods to list but right now it has a Slash chassis under it and runs a Mamba Max Pro. Most old post you find from me will be of this truck.
Thank you for looking
Snake Eyes Racing est. 1994 Stampede/MSC
My highly upgraded pede. Lots of aluminum and rpm. Has Mip driveshafts and hot racing slipper.

Ice Reaper. New Bright shell and custom spiked tires.

Another New Bright shell. This one is hard plastic and the wing was already broken. ++ duct tape...
I don't expect the wing to last very long... It was all of $5 at the flea market for the whole truck.
I also came with rubber monster mudder 2.2 tires to make another set of ice spikes for winter.

Stampede 2WD Brushed (All Stock)
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have owned this truck about 5-6 years and wanted to get away from the Monster Truck styling and high centre of gravity. I ended up 'slamming' the body using Slash 2WD body posts and went with Proline Trencher LP tires/Raid wheels. The truck now has an 'Off-Road' look to it, which I really like.
For electronics, I upgraded from the stock XL-5 speed control/brushed motor to running an Hobbywing brushless combo - EZRun Max 10 ESC/3652SL G2 (3300 Kv) motor, with 2S lipo. The HW electronics are excellent and the Max 10 ESC offers tons of adjustability. A Spektrum radio and Savox digital servo control the truck.
The suspension (front/rear arms, bearing carriers, front caster blocks), shock towers and gear cover were all replaced with parts from RPM - they are much stronger then stock and hold up to more abuse.
The truck is much faster and handles better but is still great over the jumps. My 'new' Stampede is once again getting regular rotation in my bashing sessions!
