This is my older stampede that I upgraded with electronics from a slash so it is waterproof, also it has a set of tire chains I made to add traction in the snow.

My son and I first project. Pede with the Tango bodies. Steady upgradeing parts. To bad to say after 1 week they don't look that good now. Like they say,, they don't run good untill you put some scratches on them.

crawl-bash-swim. The Summit does it all.
Stampede is slowly turning shiny! The roll cage is the latest addition, however it affects the handling really badly and I spend quite a lot of my time on the roof!
This is my first attempt at doing a clear body. I found a Parma ’42 Willy’s (I thought they only did Jeep)
After seeing an old style body in another thread (thanks Thunderbutt {words I never thought I would speak})
I bought what was labeled as Burgundy Metallic, but after the first coat, it looked more like bright fuchsia. I also got black for the windows, so I removed the masks & sprayed the whole inside with the black, which darkened the paint. Kinda like the way it turned out, though.
Had to trim more off the fenders than I wanted, which is a shame because there was a lot of character in them. Oh well, I still like the way it turned out.
And now…naked!
Started out as a XL-5, upgraded to a Velineon system, TRX turnbuckles all around, TRX bearing carriers & castor blocks, Futaba 3305 servo.
Merged
Forgot to add – RPM front bumper & suspension arms, TRX Big Bore shocks.

Here's my old Stampede. Pre XL1 (bought in 2002) originally it had a mechanical speed control and a Stinger 20T (long gone!) and it's been the recipient of many many power combos over the years. Recently updated with the XL5 and Titan 12T out of my 2WD Slash (upgraded to VXL), it can still get down with the big boys! With a 8.4 battery it'll walk a 20 foot wheelie from a dead stop on asphalt, and give a stock 2WD Slash a run for it's money on the dirt!

The kids first attempt at painting a body so he kept it pretty basic. Stock body met it's maker after some pretty hard bashing. New chassis, shocks, steering servo and various other parts.
